Where did you see that Eubank Jr vs Williams has been canceled? Is the fight not postponed until the end of January or do you know something that the rest of us do not know?

The fight isn't that interesting, but the business side definitely is. Sky taking a gamble with this. Just speculating, but they are expecting, what, at least 500k PPV purchases? Surely both guys have +3m guarantees?!

You honestly believe when Hearn signed Khan that he didn't intend on signing that fight and putting it on PPV?

Not a chance I’ll buy a ppv on this, unless the undercards a belter maybe, but still doubt it. I’ll look out for result the next day and watch back on YouTube, but just can’t summon much enthusiasm for it despite it being 50/50 as both are a shadow of their former selves

I think they might try to sell this for £9.99 or a similar price to the Eubank Jr vs the unknown australian who he fought on ITV Box Office a few years ago.

I don’t think this does 100k buys. I might be wrong but I feel like most people would like to see it but wouldn’t pay for it. I split most PPV’s with my friend but won’t be getting this.

No way. The problem with lowering the price is you are basically telling the consumer that fight isn't good enough for ppv. It's either a ppv fight with the same price point as others or not. If not then why is it ppv?

Not forgetting that once you drop the price to say £9.99 the next ppv fight at £19.99 will have the consumer asking why has the ppv price doubled? What answer can you give to that question?

The real boxing fans are smart enough to realize this fight is not worth £19.99 in 2022 at the current stages of their career. I'm sure the casuals will lap it up but i think Boxxer might have the wool pulled over their eyes here. It'll all depend what they think good PPV numbers for this fight wil be.

I just don't think it's worth £19.99 and a lot of competition in the streaming services are offering fights of that calibre at a lower price than 20 pounds. Fite.tv offer PPVs for a lesser price for UK customers.

It just isn't legitimately worth 20 pounds on PPV in 2022. In 2016 it would have been worth it. Boxxer don't have big names yet to create big ppv events like Anthony Joshua or slightly less PPV fighters like Whyte.

I think people can see the value of a Joshua vs Usyk fight over a Kell Brook vs Amir Khan fight in 2022. It's not rocket science.

I also think DAZN should have put their subscription service to 4.99 instead of going from 2.99 to 9.99 when they have very little content for it to be worth it. DAZN would make more money because a lot of people cancelled after the price increase and may have kept it going if the price was a bit cheaper at £4.99.

I'm sure idiots will buy it at £20 but it's clearly not worth it at this point. It would be smarter to sell the PPV at £9.99 or even less personally. The problem is the fighters will be wanting more money than they're actually worth.

I think it will be a failure on PPV but we'll see next year.

The emphasis will be on the undercard to add more value to the PPV. Kell Brook vs Amir Khan are two shot fighters and if the undercard is abysmal (which it might be) because of the pay Kell and Amir want then it won't be worth the money.

The casual consumer will happily jump from £9.99 to £19.99 with a good main event. I don't think a 10 pound difference is something the casuals won't lap up anyway. PPV price doesn't mean anything in terms of it being a ''PPV fight'' like you say. I think lowering the price by 10 pounds won't change anyone's opinion on that.

I'm not always Eddie Hearn's biggest fan but i think he's correct that this fight's value is simply not the same as it was years ago. Boxxer is itching out for a PPV event at the moment and i think it was a move out of need more than anything.

I'd actually probably pay for a ''Liam Williams vs Eubank Jr'' PPV with a couple of good fights on the undercard. I'm not sure how much but i'd probably pay for it. I'm not sure i want to bother with Khan vs Brook because it will be two shot fighters looking rusty and out of peak performance. It could be a boring fight like Victor Ortiz vs Robert Guerero was some months back.

    DAZN £1.99 - £7.99

The thing is I don't think a price point of £9. 99 would make much difference. The hardcore not wanting to pay £19.99 isn't the audience needed to make it a success.

Sky will see it as they have an audience already who has shown that they will buy non AJ fights on ppv for £19.99 and as long as they don't **** up the promotion a good chunk of those will buy this fight.

Anything north of 300k buys I would say is success.

That's still a stupid increase because i know a lot of people cancelled after that. DAZN subscription is not worth £7.99. The majority of the fights get put on youtube for free not long afterwards. People don't care to watch ''Conor Benn's life'' clips or some ''Behind the Scenes'' show.

Amir Khan vs Kell Brook is not worth £19.99. It's two shot fighters and it will probably be an awful fight. Victor Ortiz vs Guerrero levels of awful.

It's all about how much they will need to pay the fighters and i think it's going to do worse than expected on PPV.

The audience needed to make this fight a success probably don't even remember who Kell Brook is at this point. He's not a PPV fighter. 300k wouldn't be a huge success in terms of the pay that Brook and Amir want. Boxxer and Sky will sell themselves short.
