Exactly, he can make 135 with his eyes closed, for starters he was very bulky for a 135, to much muscle mass. If anything he would make 135 easier than when he was at Olivers gym.
I understand where people are coming from generally in regards to Khans chin, but this statement is just pure bullcrap. His chin isn't the best but how, if his whiskers are truly that bad, has he gone 22-1 and won a version of the world title? It truly doesn't make any sense what you are saying
I'd take Khan. Brook has fought tomatoe cans so far, he may as well have fought amputee war vets because none of them punched back. I've got a bad feeling about his chin up leaning back defence when he faces somebody with offensive capablity. No more so than somebody with the handspeed Khan posesses. Plus Khan has the better experience at this stage, he's had some hard times and bounced back, he knows where he's heading, Brook is still in a world where everything has been very very simple and he's not had to address any of his flaws.
At the notion Brook would be way too big and strong. Brook would be smaller in height and likely reach, so as for physical dimensions that is a falsehood. When did we last see Brook use his insane strength to manhandle his opponent? Nope, he's outboxed no hopers but its never been about strength, he's a small looking welterweight. Khan looks extremely strong at 140lbs. I think if they met at 147 there would be no discernable advantage for either and the better boxer would win.
Great fight if it happens (which is DAMNED DAMNED unlikely IMO). I reckon Brooks power and excellent timing would take Khan out at some point during the 12 rounds
Exactly. I'm amazed at how people are talking about Brook. He has improved, but jesus people were on Khans back about fighting non punchers after he was 4 or 5 fights into his career. Have you looked closely at Brooks list of opponents? It is like a whos who of feather fisted fighters. He has basically fought 20 fighters who could not crack an egg. The latest win was against someone with by far and away the biggest KO record of anyone he has fought and the guy barely threw a punch back. I've also seen Brook dropped by one of the journeymen he beat and his feet are too close together to allow him to move out of range, so he leans back and is going to get tagged all night by the first decent counter puncher he faces. He does not bang particularly hard, but he throws nice combinations and is showing clear improvements. But frankly I think Khan would land so often and so easily that it is not a madness to see Brook being stopped. Clearly Brook could KO Khan as I think anyone with even the slightest power at domestic level who lands clean will hurt Khan. But Brook has fought nobody. Limmond is a much better fighter than anyone Brook has faced in 21 bouts.
Im a big fan of Kell Brook and personally think this guy has so much more in his locker .... would love to see him in against Alfonso Gomez that would be a good match up and test for him ..... As far as beating Khan is concerned maybe not just yet as Khan is a bit special but give it another 3or4 fights and I could change my mind ...
he had problems making the weight in his LW fight against ***an... the man has to live like a monk to make the weight! he is more comfortable at LWW
