Freddie needs to retire and take a break, last few years have taken a big toll on him

Freddie Roach talking to The Times:

“I used to think I had one fighter who could beat Mayweather but now I think I have two,” he said. “I am not a big fan of Mayweather, and Amir and Manny have speed which he can’t handle. If Mayweather won’t fight Manny, maybe he will fight Amir. I am not saying I would want that one right now, but maybe in another two fights.”

Maybe he should retire if he is thinking this!

  8. if khan shows the ability to take several good shots from maidana i might give him a chance against mayweather. khan is very talented, no question.

People (not you, Indio) need to stop expecting Khan to take flush Maidana-shots to show what his chin is like at 140. It’s not going to happen. If he’s going to win the way his corner want him to win, his chin won’t be tested.

The moment his chin is tested, the fight will probably be over.

  10. it will get tested. he cant avoid a hungry young man's punches for 12 rounds. if he does, its cuz he got on his bike. it could turn into a very ugly affair. ugly and boring. maidana, however, has other plans. he is certain, as is almost everyone, that he can ko khan. if he's getting outboxed, he can literally rush him and start exchanging. theres no escape for khan. he absolutely has to have an incredible defense and fight a perfectly disciplined fight. maidana looked pretty good against a mobile young fighter in ortiz and we all know what happened there.

Khan will never be a P4P elite fighter like Manny or Mayweather, simply because he doesn't train hard enough

Which is why I'm picking Maidana to win by stoppage.

Never going to happen, the closer to the fight it gets the quicker I think Khan will get him out of there> I honestly don't see Maidana surviving 6 rounds. But that's just me :good

    Shouldn't it be....

Khan will never be a P4P elite fighter like Manny or Mayweather, simply because he isn't good enough.

Fair enough. I'm a Khan fan, and I hope you're right.
