[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiXicchS_1M"]YouTube - Amir Khan vs Marcos Maidana Boxing Promo[/ame] Promo vid I made first one, not the greatest but ok Anyone give me some ideas what features I could use to make other ones. Tell me what you think.
Good vid. Probably the most intriguing matchup on the horizon. Khan is (now) more disciplined than Ortiz was, and has advantages in height and reach. Maidana can be hit and hurt, and conceivably Khan can keep at range and only take glancing blows to take a UD or late stoppage. But, of course, the big question is what's going to happen if Maidana lands a big one. Boxer usually beats brawler, and if Khan is indeed sturdier at 140 than lightweight, then he should beat him. But if he's just as vulnerable...
Unfortunately for Amir, that chin is such a dog awful drawback, that the notion of 'boxer will usually beat a brawler' may not even apply to him whenever he faces a banger. Depending on how this fight goes, it will answer a lot questions about him.
Absolutely. His wins over Paulie and Kotelnik and even the blowout of Ginger Boy are impressive but have told us nothing about his punch resistance. That said, I'd put Kotelnik's power above many of the people who hurt and dropped Khan at lightweight. I really feel for the kid, because even if he is stronger at 140 he's always going to have that cloud hanging over him. If he can get by Maidana and take a few blows in the process then he'll have really helped his cause. If he wins without taking a shot then he won't have proven anything except he can avoid being tagged by a brawler.
That right hand that dropped Ortiz, just after Ortiz had Maidana in trouble...I very much doubt Khan would get up from a shot like that.
That's my concern too. He may just go the whole fight being extremely cautious (even afraid) and not be hit at all. This will still leave questions hanging in the air on whether he's comfortable in knowing there's a beast of a puncher in front of him. I know there's no chance of him being able to take a flush shot, so I won't be asking this from him. Instead, I want him to show confidence in his defence as oppose to showing confidence in his chin. I want him to know how hard Maidana hits, by pitting his defence against his onslaught, and actually being aware of what's coming his way. But if he blinds himself by hiding his head behind his arms and running around the ring like a headless chicken, I'm still going to have reservations about his chances of conquering the division. Which brings me to another point, his ring generalship. He needs to utilize his impressive footwork to aid his defence, just like Hopkins and Mayweather do.
Kotelniks not a big puncher but Khan took them well, I think he is stronger at 140 and matured physically, Pacquiao is in such great condition he took Cotto punches, he has a good chin but take 135 to 147 is a big jump in power.
Khans career thus far. -Fight a bunch of light-hitters (get floored and wobbled off some of them). -Fight a guy with above average power and get KOd inside 60 seconds. -Go back to fighting light-hitters. This is gonna be a demolition job. Scary stuff. Brutal.
What the **** is wrong with you? You made a thread the other day saying Khan would KO Maidana so you can save your ass if you turn out to be wrong. Also, you have to leave if they do fight.
Khan is the most skilled fighter Maidana has faced. Khan has the best trainer in boxing Maidana chin isnt the greatest either.
