It really is difficult to put into words how completely baffling-stupid this is. It's been days and I still think "Holy ****", every time it comes up

Yeah, good thing for Mccloskey however is that he has already gotten his £100k payment, hence why Hearn is happy to lay into their stupidity

Rightly so, with 5 days to go would you go to primetime, who have no marketing budget, but yet need to do in excess of 40-50,000 buys in order to just match what sky was offering for SS3

I'd guess more than the 15k he will get from primetime estimated by Eddie Hearn-

And the Sky sports 3 exposure would have been worth taking a cut anyhow

I'd read that he was getting £250k.

    That's a shitload of buys......

    Agreed.

There's a lot of simple points that they didn't consider when making the switch.

Even mates of mine that aren't interested in boxing know when there's a world title fight involving a British fighter going on..... this week, absolutely nothing.

All I've got is text messages berating the Leeds defence and arranging the time and place for beers on Saturday.

At least McCloskey gets his guaranteed £100k.

If the production costs are around £70k they need 4700 to make a bean from the TV.

Even if they were to exceed all expectations and get the 50k buys as you say..... the additional money wouldn't really compensate for the lack of exposure to the British public, in terms of gaining potential interest in his next fight.

Yea, and probably worst of all is that Khan himself won't even think they have screwed up. Team Khan will have him so into their bull**** that he will believe it's everyone else.

"It's SKY's fault, they have offered us only SS3 for XYZ. Don't worry Amir, we are going to go to Primetime, they give us 50%, we'll make far more, do you agree Amir?." "Amir we only got 15,000 buys on primetime, thing is though what else could we expect with 5 days, SKY really messed us up on this one." ... and so on

I'm quite sure he is involved in the final decision on many things, the problem is that those advising him and managing his affairs deliver the options to him completely tainted in how they want it to go.

 Honestly, you guys need to let go. ESB is probably more tense than Team Khan themselves.

Problems happen. Just move on. No point burying your heads into it.

Admit it, you're butthurt about this. Can't bear to hear any criticism about Team Khan.

And you're not even buying the PPV! Why can't people discuss what's happening here?

 No, I'm actually not. I'm am 'butthurt' about not seeing the Countdown shows more that it being on a Primetime channel :lol:.

Criticism? I've already criticised them for it, it's a dumb as **** move, no ****, but I'm not going to repeat it and cry over it again and again and again............

Unless you want me to start making multiple threads on it being such a bad move, then sure, if that suits you more, I'll do that

    :yep

I wonder how Amir will react when he goes to Tesco's in a week's time for bread and milk and a spotty teenager tells him that his card has been declined :think

It's obvious that it pisses you off when people discuss this issue. A lot of other things are repeated again and again on the forum but you never complain about that. Now everyone's focusing on the shittyness of Team Khan you're getting all upset.

It's shocking how you've been hyping this fight for over 2 months Laz, yet you're not even willing fork out £15 to see it on a proper TV... :-(
