They haven't been insinuating it, they've been blatantly saying it. Khan has even said that he'd be up for fighting Mayweather. I suppose that kind of talk was enivatable once he moved to Wildcard and starting training and sparring with Pacman, people were always going to start making the comparisons.

 

Why must he be? One fight doesn't define someones ability. Alexander is world level. Kotelnik worked to the best of his abilities and Alexander underperformed. Simple as.

Khan beat Mallignaggi comprehensively, the same with Maidana. Khan has proven himself at world level.

Salita on the otherhand is a nobody, domestic level boxer at best, who got a title shot through having good publicity

 

Alexander didn't underperform, he was found out. The man can't adapt in the ring. Kotelnik is definitely world class.

 

Kotelnik beat Maidana as well. How is Maidana world level and Kotelnik isn't?

 

Firstly anyone who states Kotelnik beat Maidana either never saw the fight or is an absolute moron. Both were a total disgrace, If I was the referee I would have called a NC.

Maidana is an average boxer who operates at world level because he has power.
Kotelnik on the other hand is completely average in every department.

How many world level guys are there at 140 in your opinion, and could you name them? Shouldn't take you too long seeing as the criteria for world level are sky high, I'm thinking now it might only be Khan, Bradley and Alexander.

No but operating at world level for a few years and having a decent amount of success would indicate, world level

If Maidana didn't have his power, nobody would even know his name, nevermind getting a fight with Khan. He's has two world class abilities that allow him with his limited skills to operate at world level, thats resilience and great punching power.

Plenty of world class 140's.... Bradley, Ortiz, Peterson, Maidana, Khan, Mallignaggi, Alexander to name a few

You seem to think that one fight suddenly defines someones ability, and if they win, that's it, they are better than who they fought and everyone that their opponents ever beaten. It's people like you who watch someone win a fight by KO and then splergh general for the following 6 days about how they should fight Manny/Mayweather, speculate how they would do against Sugar Ray.. until 2 weeks later when its someone else
