Amir Khan vs Paul McCloskey - Officially confirmed!

Khan will only fight tomato cans again after Maidana had him running for his life.

 

I think it's a really good fight. McClosky has handled everyone in front of him with ease, except maybe Lauri where was a bit lastlustre. But he's seriously struggled to get decent opponents. A slick south-paw, another member of the 'who needs him' club.

I remember Joe Calzaghe having similar problems getting opponents once upon a time.

Also those saying he's got no power - see how many recent opponents have been counted out. Paulie Malignaggi - he's nothing like him!!!!

I think we'll learn a little more about Khan and a lot more about McClosky's level...

And I think he's a lot better boxer than Maidana!

 

McCloskey does everything better than Maidana, the only thing Maidana has over McCloskey is punching power.
Khan will do well to make it into the late rounds, his only chance is McCloskey gassing late, I don't see that happening as I think McCloskey takes Khan out in the first half of the fight.

 

Although your question wasn't directed at me these rankings may give some idea as to why (aside for personal opinion) the guy thought he was a "(just about) top 10, 140 pounder".

I prefer Lamont but hey mccloskey was the 2nd best pick and should be a good homecoming for Khan and an easy fight

 

have any of you ever seen mccloskey? if he was american and more hyped he would be raved about as a major live underdog.
