For what its worth, in the Khan-Brook bad opponent proxy war. Brandon Cook would massacre Vargas

From what I have seen of Vargas and admittedly that was against Spence and Garcia he is game enough but seems pretty easy to hit ! particularly with right hands . Khans strengths and weaknesses are well publicised and his fast punches I figure will take this kid out within a few rounds ! I know people have joked (I think it was said as a joke) that Sam Eggington was a possible Khan opponent?I think he would be a tougher fight .

I agree, probably tougher. But one that still ought to be pretty easy for Khan.

I suggested it and not as a joke. I think if Khan was serious about a Brook fight he would move up and Eggington as a warm up or at least a catch weight fight.

It’s crazy that after all these years and the massive profile rise in Brook and Khan disappearing that Khan is still holding all the cards. My way or no way.

For what it’s worth I don’t think we see it. I don’t think Brook can make 147 for starters, so he will chase a title at 154 and get his career brutally and categorically ended and Khan will chase the Pacquiao fight, try and make it PPV at the o2 or something, win a paper title and retire “on top”.

Khan's hoping Pac get by Matthyse - then he can line that fight up. I'd totally forgot aboyt Pac fighting but that will be the plan which makes me think Brook Khan won't happen now. I thought the 3 fight deal with Mathroom meant it was nailed on but not so now.

Vargas looks game enough, but he has slow hands, easy to hit, tries to shoulder roll under pressure, and squares up when trying to apply pressure. He's getting stomped.

Egg would be all wrong for Khan could actually see Egg having some success maybe even beating Khan if he could land the money shot. Would have been a much tougher fight. Vargas is everything Khan likes in a fighter, slow, no head moment and no power, hell if they had made him left handed it would have been even more of a cherry pick as Khan seems to be at his best v lefties.

How bout somebody in the top 20 or a guy with a half decent win on his record? Doent have to be the best just a bit competitive at least!

They’re not. They want maximum revenue from the fans. They constantly say stadium fight.

hearn has mentioned numerous times about this December being the time to have the fight, plus khan or brook could lose if they put it off for another 6-12 months, they wont be able to keep fighting bin men for a year, its either khan fight for a 147 world title and lose or brook fight for a 154 world title or lose and the fights dead or just fight this December before its too late

Read somewhere that Khan is looking at the Pac v Matthysse winner.

Just think if Matthysse wins just a jab from him would leave Khan sleeping for a weekend.

Ask yourself when was the last time Amir Khan fought someone who could punch at 140 or 147lbs? Danny Garcia.

His opponents at 147 have all been those who don't carry genuine power.
