I think that after Khan defeats Salita, that he should take a step up in competition and fight Bradley. He says that he wants to fight in the U.S. This fight would be great at the Staples Center because Khan trains out of the Wild Card Gym and Bradley is a California fighter. This would be very competitive.
Amir Khan will not be fighting Bradley. Besides, American fighters seem to be too rough for European fighters. If Khan does decide to come over here and fight an American fighter, he should fight one who won't take the fight to him.
Amir is still only 22, and has lots of potential. He's going to be a freak at 25-26 if he sticks around long enough, so I wouldn't put him in with Bradley who is probably pretty close to his peak if not right on it. Wait until its the only logical matchup.
I hate that kind of thinking . . . that's exactly what a protected fighter is. Fighters needs to take risks and fight the good ones to be great. When he is already on top . . . that's the time he can choose what risks to take. :deal
Its like Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns. Dundee waited 2 years before agreeing to the matchup, in his words "I wanted it to get juicy". Bradley-Khan could potentially generate some hype down the road but not now.
At Present timmy is to good for amir but give amir a year or so and he maybe could beat him after bradley has had a few wars and is on the slide a bit :hey
Too rough?? What, like Lacy,Taylor,Maliggnaggi...and penty more over the last few decades:good I'm not Khan's greatest fan but he will have no trouble defending his title next week and his speed if they ever meet will give Bradley fits!!!
I think by end of 2010 Khan will be ready to face Bradley if he keeps winning and improving under Roach. It would be a hard fight, but Khan has the reach and speed to do the job i feel.
