They have squared off in the ring once before in the Am's with Khans hand being raised

Both have had their recent fights cancelled due to their opponents testing positive for banned substances

If Amir Khan were to win at 147 it would set up a super fight with Floyd Mayweather

If Victor Ortiz wins then he could go for a shot vs Paulie Malignaggi for the WBA title and possibly chase down Kell brook or Mike jones

Both are Golden Boy fighters so this fight will have no problem being made and makes sense money wise

    Bring it on!

Khan 140 in July (no question unless he fights a low quality 147 opponent)

Then 147 in december - I'd bet more on him facing Brook , simply because Ortiz is such a big welter

If Ortiz & Khan can both stay at the top of their game into 2013 then they may face each other

same age. would be a great fight.

Ortiz is a beast at 147lb, Khan needs time to adjust to the weight class, put on the muscle over either 2 fights or a solid 6 weeks to 2 months worth of slow training to build up before the camp for an Ortiz fight begins if an Ortiz fight is his first fight at 147lb, timing is off for this fight, from Khan's perspective, for Ortiz, it would be perfect, he gets to keep his payday that he would have got against Berto and spark a weak 140lb khan moving up at 7/8 weeks notice.

Well there is Danny Garcia at 140 but lets face it he didnt look spectacular against an old shot Morales.

Other than that who is there at 140? Mathysse is a good shout but i doubt they would go for that fight due to Lucas' profile. Judah already got beat. Maidana just lost to Alexander. Timmy is fighting Pacquiao and Alvarado is a Toprank fighter who isnt quite at that level yet

Honestly this is the best fight for Khan at the present time.

Beat Ortiz (by KO preferably) and that puts him in the hot seat to fight floyd fresh off his prison sentence should the Pacquiao fight not come through. Also would add pressure to May-Pac as there would be a 24/7 involving Pacquiao in sparring as well as roach possibly in the face off.

Golden boy should be busting their ass to make this fight! as far as Ortiz being a beast at the weight he is good no doubt but he fought an over rated Berto who lets not forget arguably lost to Collazo and his only other fight he was knocked out by Mayweather himself

Hmm Khan has good power, questionable chin, Ortiz, very good power, questionable chin.

This spells a lot of shattered china. IM IN

How is Ortiz a beast at 147? He's only had two fights and was dropped twice against Berto and KO'ed against Floyd, he is a strong dude but unproven and hardley a beast at welter...

With that being said Khan vs Ortiz would be a great fight, Victor moved up and faced an undefeated champ in Berto why cant Khan move right up and face a two fight welter in Ortiz who was knocked out in his last fight, set these two up for around August or September and it wp
ould be a great fight, unless one of them are juicing too...

Andre Berto and Lamont Peterson have lost all my respect and lost a fan, punk mother****ers!!!
