Round 5 Quillin just whips him repeatedly, working hooks and uppercuts as LeHoullier backs up and blocks about a third of them. LeHoullier's corner hops up on the apron and waves the white towel. Robert Byrd takes like twenty seconds to notice them. TKO5!
You can't really argue with a corner stoppage. It's their man, they know what he can or can't take. You can only really say "early stoppage" if it's the referee (or doctor).
Waste of a fight for Quillin as I thought when Simms dropped out. He could have got this in sparring. Basically he learned how to beat up a guy who doesnt throw back.
This is why I hate when guys like Quillin are thrown in with journeyman. They are in survival mode from the opening bell. You really cant work on your game nor can you be explosive and exciting for the crowd.
Eh, he got to stay sharp and put in a full camp and a few rounds of offensive practice on someone who was at least trying not to get knocked out. LeHoullier was just a punching bag on wheels but I don't think this was a total waste. Quillin has had some stretches of inactivity; it's best for him to stay active even if it's this type of mismatch once in a while. For a short notice replacement, could have done better but could also been worse.
How the hell are ya'll get the fight? The HBO broadcast doesn't start for 30 more minutes. Is it just Zab vs Khan, and that's it?
Yes. That will be all that gets shown live on HBO. Primetime (UK) is covering the undercard...or was. It's over.
Quillin is no world-beater. White can't commentators just say "Quillin is the black guy and LeHoullier is the white guy"? That would make things more real.
