Amir Khan will not have a long career

Khan's funny in that for 4 or 5 rounds he looks sensational, simply sensational...after that though he's really average.

 

hes planning on retiring early anyway.

im guessing his last fight will be him gettin KTFO by floyd.

 

His handspeed is only amazing in the opening few rounds. He slows so much after the first 4 or 5 rounds that he looks a different fighter, it's bizarre.

 

Yeah, I agree. Unless he shows signs of picking up the required skills/savviness/experience a fighter needs for when his physcial attributes decline, he'll be past his prime pretty soon. The wars he has in the ring don't do him much good, either. He's already had four notable gruelling fights so far - Limond, Gomez, Maidana and Peterson. Not to mention he's been been fighting/training/developing at an incredible pace since he began his pro career at 18. After that Prescott defeat, it's quite easy to forget how much he's been moved along since.

Khan is not a very intelligent fighter and relies too much on Freddie Roach. He can't figure out fighters and can't change anything.If a fight is not going to plan they can't do anything because Roach doesn't change gameplans during flights.What's worse is his defence sucks,he cant block upper cuts and he still literally pushes fighters away when the going gets tough.He's just overrated and he will be exposed very soon.

 

It's a fair assessment. I think he'll give us some cracking and memorable fights in this short career though.

 

Probably true. So much of his game is speed.

 

Yeah, that career has just been shortened by a few more fights.

 

Well he's already a multi-millionaire, an Olympic medalist and a 3-time world champion, something 99% of the pro boxers can't say, so it's been quite a career already, it just started earlier than usual.
