The problem is that once you have the belt (khan) the fans will demand decent opposition, especially if they are expected to pay 15 quid to watch it on top of their sky subscription. Im not sure he can keep away from the serious contenders/champs for too long
A Cotto jab, not to mention his lead hand is the most powerful. The fight was over once Khan went wading in. He's been shook by a lot of shots.
There were mitigating factors which more often than not get ignored, especially by the haters: a) weight-drained at 135lbs, Roach couldn't believe he was fighting at LW and you can thank whoever was training Khan at the time for that. b) poor conditioning, focus was on upper body strength, weight lifting as opposed to stamina and focus on core and lower body. First thing Roach asked Ariza to do was transfer that muscle mass to the legs and move up to 140. Even now talk is Khan will only have a couple of fights more at JWW. c) poor coaching, Khan had shown absolutely no technical development in his preceeding fights right up until he got KTFO. He was still fighting as if he was an amateur, fighting for scoring points with no regard for defense, setting up his offense, or any semblance of basic ringcraft. Who's fault is that? Khan's (so why bother with a trainer?) or the second rate coaches which 'guided' Khan right up until he met Prescott's jab/hook? Khan has never or ever will have a rock solid jaw, but the above points are significant contributing factors to this and until he ended up under Roach's tutelage was always a K.O. waiting to happen. Anyway, some people on here regard blocking punches with your face with a sense of pride. I thought the point of boxing was to hit & not get hit..........
I seen Pac hurt with a jab once, he was on the canvas and didn't know if he needed a shite or a haircut lol. It was against Skinny Hussein if memory serves. Another fight that shows some excellent jabwork is Winky v Tito.
Thats right.....weirdest KD I'd ever seen...Pac didn't know his arsehole from breakfast time when he clambered up with a daft grin on his face. He looked pissed.
I was just about to post the exact same post that I already made over 2 years ago!! Didn't realize this was a bumped thread. Clearly wobbled by a jab tho.
**** chin, can't really be denied but he has a lot of heart as the Maidana fight showed and even him hopelessly trying to get up in the Prescott fight. But Wlad has a **** chin and he's not doing bad for himself, I suspect only Mayweather and Pac would be the only ones who could find it now on regular occasion and that includes Bradley.
