Of course he will. Its not much of an achievement to be a "world" champion these days. He'll pick up a WBO belt and defend it a few times. Mr. Warren will be very careful with him from now on:good
well if you count the WBU as a world title then yes he will but any other sort of recognised world title then no he wont. theres only so long warren can protect him from fighting against a decent boxer with any sort of punching power. anyway i dont even think he would win never mind defend a british title think your jumping the gun a bit with a world title!!!
I voted no, but if he gets in there with a guy in his next few fights who can really punch and does what he did against Limond - gets up off the deck to come back and win then imo he would have shown himself to be well capable of it. Until then i think ill assume he gets ko'd by a good puncher before he gets to world title stage.
I'm sure Warren could throw him in with Gavin Rees and then give him a string of easy defences, so I guess the answer is yes. However, I'm not too sure that he's going to be able to work his way up to that level legitimately despite being more naturally talented than most guys around his weight.
Some genius matchmaking might see him get some sort of title, but there's only so much protection a fighter can be given. Even hand picking light hitters has seen him badly exposed. He has a huge amount of talent, and if the other guy wasn't allowed to hit back, he would be fantastic. A proper world title seems a bit far fetched, I would say the British title is beyond his reach as long as Jon Thaxton is the champ.
Rees has to defend against Andreas Kotelnik immediately after his next defence so if that were to be Khan and Khan were to win(no forgone conclusion) then he'd lose in his first defence and Warren can't be having that .
I would not like to see him in the ring with any of the other champs just yet because I think they will be to strong for him and his chin. Let him conquer the dometsic scene first ie jon thaxton.
It's almost a forgone conclusion. Khan is a massive talent. All this talk of him being over protected is rather pathetic and shortsighted. He's only 19, most top amateurs don't turn pro until their early 20s
