Exciting, vulnerable, frightening speed, questionable chin and defence but what a career he’s had. Hope he calls it a day now. Comes across a good guy deep down and an icon of British boxing for me.
Agree got respect for Khan and his career but get the fack out now with the brain cells you've got left.
Retire. I'm sure he was saying to Shalom in the ring, what about a rematch with Shalom like not a chance after that.
I don't think he had many before he started his career in boxing and he certainly should hang them up now
Good Guy? Icon? wtf he's lied, trolled, made excuses, on Brook for years then made all these ridiculous demands like a coward. he thoroughly deserved that one sided beatdown mismatch there. Exciting to watch, yes, but mostly in a hitting the canvas or chicken dancing every other fight way.
Don't see you talking about Fred Evans and Ryan Burnett much and the long line of other brit fighters whove done that. You're talking like Khan is the only one ever. You can appreciate him, but it only seems to be South Asians who are so delusional to that level with their comments like you are with '' what a career' and ''icon''. The guy hasn't won a world title for 11 years, has done chicken dancing or been knocked out every other fight, And just got absolutely humiliated in his own back yard to the guy hes been trolling and avoiding and talking **** to dismissing for years. Got absolutely butchered destroyed! was on bambi legs after the very first punch. Now is not the time for any praise!
One of British boxing's all-time warriors. It was disturbing the shots he took against a bigger guy tonight, but the heart and chin he showed put me to shame.
Anyone with a brain, whether Asian or not, will respect Khan's achievements and what he's done for British boxing. Olympic medalist at such a young age, paved the way and set a blueprint for the likes of DeGale and AJ to follow. He sold out main events in USA and has been in classic fights that will be spoken about for years to come. He's never dodged anyone, always showed the heart of a warrior and has a great skillset. On top of that, had mainstream success on TV, has done loads of charity work and is a likeable guy. That's what he should be remembered for.
Disagree. Fair play to him he made the most he could but I don't think he was good at all for British boxing. The idea that someone who had only won a Commonwealth title at professional level should fight on PPV against a Columbian no one had ever heard of and had only fought outside of his own country on a couple of occasions is what created all this PPV nonsense we see today.
Khan under roach and ariza was a beast. With his shaky chin his conditioning and leg strength had to be at 100% like it was with ariza. He really needed 6-9 months full time training to get back to peak 35 year old shape.
@iamthegreatest Degale, Joshua , Campbell won GOLD, 1st place means far more than 2nd place you don't see to realise that at the Olympics before Khan,, that Audley Harrison won Gold, at the Olympics before that Robin Reid medalled and the Olympics before that Richie Woodhall medalled. So he didn't pave the way. GB get medals almost every time at the Olympics in boxing.
