    Young Ali & Khan

Wishful thinking but Khan is a busted flush. His flaws are clear & cannot be corrected

Khan will never fight to his strengths & even if he does his weaknesses will always be apparent. He has the survival instincts of an adolescent lemming

The Malignaggi win can not be wholly discarded.

Where do you rank him amongst British fighters in the last decade or so?

I wasn't claiming Khan to be anywhere near Ali's level. I was demonstrating how fighting to your strengths is the key to success. You have a right to bash Khan, but at 25 he has acheived a hell of a lot. Tell me another British boxer that is a bust flush that has acheived what he has.

His weaknesses are apparent your right thats why he will have an easier job to correct them than someone who's weaknesses arent so glaringly obvious. Your entitled to your opinion but you cant criticise Khans acheivmants.

Dont like him as a person but he is a fine boxer.

He's got a great record especially for his age.

Its just a shame he doesnt use his brain and box to his strenght. Too many yes men me yhink

Compared to those who had to strive & fight to get to the top, compared to Khan who was virtually spoonfed opponents & still struggled?

Not as highly as you do

 His flaws have been apparent since Athens, what has done since then to address them beyond drinking Arizas magic shakes?

I'll criticise Khans achievements/acheivmants all I want, considering he has been given every possible opportunity, has been given golden chances against hand-picked opponent & still fallen short.

Its such an easy job for Khan to change his fighting DNA he's waited 8 years to do so

3 losses at 25, 2 of those by devastating KO.

5 more years = lots more painful memories for Darni

DrMo, your judgements are extremely harsh. It seems like you expected perfection from him.

Tell me another fighter who was world champion at 22, won a silver medal at 17 and multi division world champion. Until the you cant really bash his accomplishmants.

Well you could but that will probably be due to hate of Khan rather than his abilities.

So in other words you can't think of any other fighters, aside from the four mentioned in the opening post, who've had more success than him (in the given time frame)?

And yes he was spoonfed opponents early in his career (as all olympians of recent vintage have been), but post Salita he has clearly pushed himself. He didn't have to go to the States - he could've let Frank handle his career and fight a procession of obscure South Americans with pretty records but he chose to fight the best.

I don't really count the Peterson fight a loss the whole thing was bull****.

So Khan loses 1 KO and 1 TKO 4 years apart inbetween wining 2 world titles and fighting in the States at a young age and fighting anyone in his division, that's better than any fighter his age from U.K has done in recent memory.

Khan should learn from this loss and go back to his boxing which he HAS SHOWN he can do in the past with a little better defensive awareness.

A quote I once read went "boxing is the ultimate school of hard knocks, the amount of respect given is proportionate to the amout of punishment received"

The sport is always deeply suspicious of a prodigy, Leonard wasnt truly respected until he lost to Duran.

Khan has been given massive backing & every possible advantage, but he came up short. After a new start the same result, the same excuses.

I didnt expect perfection from Khan, but to rank his achievements beyond those who did better without the same financial support & handpicked matchmaking is :tired

Exactly. And not even post Salita. Going from a shot Barrera, to a really tough man in Kotelnik and then having no choice but to go into a mandatory (albeit a **** one). He clearly has mourned for the best.

Leonard was respected, hence being the favourite going into that fight :huh
