I think people have been given title shots after much less. At the end of the day hes a big name in boxing already.

    Limmond, Barrera, St Clair

Hinesights a great thing if u look at the build up to kahn barrera u cant say it was that much of a sham.

No excuse? **** off. He broke his ankle!! Sure he got caught by a good shot but he wasn't out of the fight without the breakage and there was no chance for him after that.

I dont think he had much chance to begin with, but that other idiot is saying its 1 of Khan's BEST wins

Two facts, one more obvious than the other.

    He may not beat Kotelnik.

He cannot handle moderate punches, when someone with a dig lands he will do a jig again for certain.

jesus , where are these people coming from :scaredas:

Barrera was his best win ???? Get the **** out of here.

Do you know how old Barrera was ?, or that his best days were at Super Bantam a full 5 !! Division below where Khan is fighting for his first title.

Barrera was a true ring legend in his day , but the man Khan beat up for 5 rounds ( in a fight that shouldnt even have been allowed to go 1 ) wasn't Marco Antonio Barrera

    Now please just leave !

If you look at the fight itself it was one of the biggest shams I've ever seen in boxing.

The fight should have been stopped in the first and declared a no contest. Even with the benefit of the doubt and the thought that Barrera's corner might have sorted it out, it should have been stopped in the 2nd. Instead they wait to the 5th where it can be a TD. If that happenned in Italy or Germany it would be an outrage.

Barrera fought Freudis Rojas a man with record of 1-7-1 less than 6 weeks earlier than Khan. In that fight Barrera looked horrendous, blatently shot. So he had 5 weeks to recover from the gash on his eye and train for Khan. No one thought the real MAB was turning up to that fight!

Willie Limond is the best fighter he's faced(and I've said that for every fight he's had since, before those fights happened......even Barrera).

Khan was lucky in that fight, from the point of view that he should have been counted out, he was also lucky Willie suffered a perforated eardrum(although Khan obviously caused that). IMO it's a fight Khan should have had again before going onto World level, it wasn't just one knockdown either.
I had Limond a point ahead after 6 rounds and Limond's speed and accuracy, and being willing to punch back while Khan was flurring caused Khan immense problems.

It would make a very good rematch.
