I just don't really enjoy the guys movement. He seems to be running at all times, even when he is dominating. I'm not sure if this has always been his style. I seem to remember him fighting a bit more calmly in his early fights. I can understand after the Prescott loss being a little gunshy, but after the Maidana fight you think he would gain some confidence. He seems to fight scared. I have the same problem with Wlad. They are both great fighters, but their styles just make them seem a bit scared. I know poeple call Floyd a runner, but have we ever seen him look scared in a fight, or Pacquiao for that matter. I think thats what turns off people to Khan. He talks very brave, but fights as if he might get sparked any second. Also, it seems Roach wants him like that. For me, and im not a fighter mind you, if my trainer didn't seem to have any faith in my chin, how could i have any faith. The same with Wlad, steward encourages him to hold at every opportunity. My two cents. I know its a long read to make a point thats probably been hammered to death, but hey its my first post.
He is jittery, but I think he has more confidence than you think. His apprehensive style isn't because he's worried about his chin 100 percent of the time, but he operates on a really fast level of offense. Learning to relax and improve his timing instead of throwing it all out there in rapid succession and then getting the **** out of there would be an improvement, but he has time to do that. He's not even 25 yet; his style with mature as he does. After having a strong amateur background, then getting knocked the **** out in one round, then trying to rebuild your career and rework your style while protecting your chin, then facing the biggest puncher in the division, then facing a guy with one of the fastest hardest counters currently in the sport....I think I'd be a little unattractively jittery in my style as well.
Actually just re watching the Judah fight (was a little drunk the first time) and I see he is calming down a bit. Gotta give him props for that. Noticeable improvement.
What the **** are you talking about? Khan just KO'd the guy whom according to most analyst is the most dangerous at 140 who's also on a winning streak. Khan is not fighting scared nor gun shy. Roach wants to maximize Khan's best asset which is his speed. And why would you want Khan to just gave away that advantage when he can just get in deliver then get out? I don't get it. Aside from the Maidana fight Khan basically dominated all of them. In fact Marcos was way behind on points until the 10th when he wobbled Amir. You're just a Khan hater but you make it look like you aren't :dead:dead:dead
It's an amateur style, and showy, but I like it. Atleast with him you know there will be action and he will initiate most of it. Sort of like De La Hoya at 140, but less refined
calm down. not a hater, just looking for a little more composure. He is being touted as pound for pound material and dont think his style is mature enough yet. It may be good enough with the current crop of contenders. I am not a Khan hater. Please dont be a Khan "lover"
Khan is way ahead of PAC at this stage skill-wise and Khan have both speed and power. And who's to say he's not a P4P material? He'll be a in the top 3 P4P in two years. Watch :hat
As well as utilising his speed, he was also making the most of his size. If you are big enough and quick enough to hit whilst keeping your opponent out of range then you have a fool proof plan. I thought he used distance superbly against Judah, which is why Zab is getting smashed for not landing anything.
Hand Speed Jab Body Shots Patient Knows how to keep distance Knows how to pressure fighters If he gets some head movement and some foot speed he'd be insane...
He used to be Amir AK 47 Khan.Just fires away! You can call him amir king Khan now he has that classy style .
I thought he looked pretty calm against Judah and Malignaggi. He was jittery against Maidana, though. But can you blame him? His china-chin was about to stand up against the first puncher since Prescott.
