Yep. To be honest, people talk about his chin in this fight, but the chin won't be the factor.

This fight will be fought with 8oz gloves, punchers gloves, which just tells us once again that if Maidana lands, he could seriously hurt him and not just Khan in my opinion, but anyone.

I've personally got Maidana by mid round T/KO. I just feel Khan will get caught.

Khan lacks real power... could be a problem for him when keeping off Maidana

    - Those punches are looking both powerful and insanely quick.

    - I think Maidana getting KO'd.

    - But there is always the danger Khan gets caught with something big, but if he has any sense about him he'll be on the constant look out for that particular soccer punch.

If only Khan were as intense in a fight. We shall see against Maidana, I doubt we'll ever see double hooks to the body like that.

It seems pretty transparent that Khan's trying to be like Manny. Even if his non serious sounds after they've stopped are exact imitations of Pac.

These fights all always fought with 8oz gloves wtf are you talking about?

They fight with 10 oz gloves on JMW fights and above (That's 154 and above).

:patsch This is the third time you've been told.

Khan ALWAYS fights with 10oz. The last time he fought with 8oz, it was with Prescott.

I haven't been following my posts then.

That's strange, you guys most do things differently in Britain. Or maybe Khan's been proposing bigger gloves for his opponents. Kind of sad; he's going to have to fight with the same gloves as everyone else eventually. Says a lot about his insecurities of his chin then. Rarely does a fighter talk about glove size with opposition unless fights are on the bordering weight of 147-154 where the the glove sizes generally increase.

not in Nevada they don't unless both fighters agree, which they did.
Either Khan is trying to prove a point or is looking at an even bigger speed advantage.

Well the thing is, it seems like they opted for 8oz and it looks like we know the reason.

If Khan get's hit by Maidana, whether he's wearing 10 or 8oz, he'll still knock Khan out.

Khan will cut Maidana up with 8oz, and if you noticed Maidana's last fight, he got really frustrated by a small cut.

    I think that's their plan.

I've always thought fights were always at 8oz. And if you opted for anything you opted for bigger 10 oz gloves.

Maybe I'm confusing sanctioning bodies. Obviously both camps can agree on 10 oz, but the standard glove size is 8 oz for fights up to WW. From JMW to HW their 10 oz gloves.

So I don't think Khan didn't opt for this. They just agreed and didn't opt for 10 oz which is what they usually propose to opponents?

Nah . I'm not sure. Most fights to be honest I see are with 10oz, and if requested, are 8oz.

Bit of a mix up. Maybe someone who's a bit more experienced on the topic could say. I'm quite the novice on it

Nopes. You are confusing the two. Here is a direct quote

"Fighters 135 pounds and heavier will be required to use 10-ounce gloves. Previously, fighters 147 pounds and below could use eight-ounce gloves, which provide less padding and theoretically allow a boxer to punch harder."
