I'm a fan of Maidana, he has great heart...but he is pretty straight forward. He hasn't (yet) got himself a World title. Mosley brings a great, great deal of experience...and Richardson adds to that experience. Mosley struggles with movement, but Khan trips over himself a great deal...which is probably the main reason I feel Khan wouldn't be ready. He also hasn't found the right medium to fight over 12 rounds either...so Mosley may struggle in the latter rounds, but Khan may also. And I wouldn't favour Khan standing there and trading with Mosley like he did with Maidana.
There is point when all that experience becomes ring rust, Khan has shown when the backfoot vs Kotelnik and Maidana he has shown signs of fading in the latter parts of the fight but vs Maidana around the 8th he got his second wind. Also fighting just 2 times a year is not ideal at his age, something he wants to change this year.
He does need to be fighting more regularly, gets him more time in under Roach, etc. The fact he hasn't fought at Welter, and the fact that Mosley throws in a great performance every now and again (and he would undoubtedly favour his chances against Khan)...is why I feel Mosley would still have too much at this point. (Pacquiao won't allow Mosley to have one of those turn the clock back performances against him. His speed and movement are going to be too much for him).
So is Mosley Shot as everyone is saying or still good enough to beat arguably the best 140 lb fighter, khan is a champion not a prospect.
Your joking? I did not fancey Maidana enough to put money on him but I'd put money on Mosley in this fight. Mosley hits harder than Maidana, is MUCH more physically strong, has better punch resistance, has faster hands and has no more problems gassing than he does. Khan can't fight on the inside, Mosley can, Mosley can also fight on the out side. Mosley KO for me.
Khan definitely wins this if he... - Waits and allows himself to naturally progress into a welterweight (maybe 1 or 2 years). - Improves the obvious deficiencies in his game defence, footwork etc. - Fights a Shane that is 100% confirmed shot. - Runs around the ring the entire time and tires the old man out. He should grab a points victory.
Agreed, khan would win this. he could beat him up badley too, as he'll be too quick to hit, and he throws fast hard combos. Mosley would have chance to win by KO if he catches him early
