I FINALLY got a chance to see the Khan-Maidana fight, and in all seriousness...great fight, and Khan really showed some skills...so I saw this in half seriousness, half fun....but crap man

he clutches more than berto...should have lost a point for being warned 1000 times to stop pushing down on MMs head, and holding his MMs arm every 10 seconds...but Cortez...o well

but yeah, still....hell of a fight

    Cortez reffed it

Did he take a point off Mayweather when he faced Hatton for excessive holding?

No, he didnt so well done Khan. Play whats in front of you, and that was a powerful opponent in Madina and an awful referee in Cortez

Yes, all in all, it was a great fight. I guess everyone was just waiting for Khan to get Sparked any second.
I guess when they say you can't grow muscles on your chin, isnt as accurate as some on here would believe.

According to many people on here, when the likes of Ward, Hopkins and Mayweather do the clinching, it's being smart and versatile.

He needs to learn to clinch properly still, Maidana had one arm free a lot of times and was banging Khan's ribcage with it.

Also, loads of fighters do the whole pushing down on your head thing. Ali used to do it all the time, just look at his fight with Foreman.

Otherwise great fight though, I didn't know both guys had that kinda quality in them.

I have massive respect for both guys after that performance.

True, he definitely needs to learn how to clinch and lean properly at least, as well as use the uppercut in close quarters.

i have no problem with clinching...but it was a bit excessive...i mean anytime MM got withing 2 feet of the guy there was an immediate tie up of some sort...and nowhere did i say it was smart of him to do it....of course it was smart...doesn't change the "excessive" part, and he should have lost a point

and another thing...there was a part..maybe in the 11th, where he literally ran and did not throw a punch for over a minute while repeatedly getting tagged...i have seen fights stopped for much less

still, a good fight, but not as big of a showing as i was expecting out of khan

Khan is more like Wlad Klitschko, relies on speed and power from the outside. He would be better off avoiding infighting altogether if he wants to keep his natural advantages and force opponents to fight his fight

What's with all this bitching, man :patsch

Yeah, let's fight on the inside with a guy who has a 90% KO ratio instead and get knocked the f out. Khan doesn't have a good inside game AT ALL. What do you expect him to do?

And do you honestly call that excessive?!? I've watched that fight over 10 times and no point did I see it as 'excessive'. I examined the fight relatively closely on what was happening.

If you call that bad, then go see the Klitschko's fight.

    'Where he literally ran'
?!? Give me a ****ing break. First you're crying about the holding, now it's the running.

Do you expect him to fight back while seriously hurt? People didn't even expect him to take a fookin' shot, let alone take multiple shots throughout that WHOLE ROUND and SURVIVE.

My god, I've never heard this before :patsch. A person complaining that a fight wasn't stopped, even though Amir was completely AWARE of what was going on. The man was even freakin' smiling at Maidana. He knew where he was and admitted it looked much worse on TV!

Just chill with your criticism. After the **** he got for supposedly 'ducking Maidana' and people accusing him of having a 'glass jaw', people need to cut the guy some slack.

He's only just turned 24. He'll learn and hopefully, he'll have an inside game in the future, where he won't have to 'Kling' as much.

I was hugely impressed by Khan.

He was able to take punches from a noted banger and tough it out when he needed to. He used the ring well and showed that he wasn't afraid to sit down on his punches in range. He is a far cry from the guy who lost to Prescott.

you talk as if Khan was clinching the whole fight when it started in the 10th, that's abit different from Ruiz/Hatton, TBH Ive watched the fight a few times and I didn't think there was much clinching or Cortez made much of an impact but people complain because Khan was hurt maybe they wanted blood :hey
