I was expecting Mansour to gas more but it was Kauffmann. Also gotta love Mansour's gameplan to use his foot movement and speed. Add better ring IQ to the mix. Not a bad fight between fringe contenders.

He's a big fat tub of s***. And Arreola's level of shotness made him look way better than he is.

Disappointing conditioning, but Kauffman's was truly something awful. This was a winnable fight for him.

I picked Mansour based on his stamina in the Washington fight which I scored for him, he was non stop aggression for the last 5 of that match, I think he fixed his stamina issues from the USS fight. Its a pity he had the freak jaw injury against Breazeale, he was on his way to stopping him. For the record I was a big fan of Mansour's pre Cunningham loss and didn't lose faith, so I'm thrilled he didn't lose to this tub of crap.

Mansour lasted better than I thought, props to him for that. Not a bad kind of scrap.

I didn't expect Mansour to use his legs on the backfoot like that. He did a nifty move where he was in the corner, turned Kauffman back into the corner then got off some good shots. Some skills shown there. Stuck to a gameplan that was the right one for this fight.

Well I agree with you. I think baby Morrison is ready for a guy like Mansour. He's definitely got that debilitating power like his dad and that always serves as an equalizer.

Kauffman's energy drop was insane. Like obviously fighters tire and slow down, but he went from like 100 to 0 literally. It reminds me of fight night when your guy has no stamina left at all so his punches are slow and do absolutely no damage. If you play fight night you'll get this reference. Thats what Kauffman was from rounds 9-12. You'd think that he'd take a round off just to get some energy back, but he was flailing with these arm punches that did nothing to mansour.

I also don't see him gassing out. Unlike his dad I think he has a granite chin too, though he hasn't really been tested. Tommy obviously had way better skills than Trey right now though.

I hear you. Just weird for a fighter with that kind of experience to misjudge his gas tank like that. I didn't have a horse in the race, but Amir boxed the smarter fight and was flat out more ready to win.

The reference, I get all too well. It was usually some 12 year old kid that was spamming body jabs on me non stop that wrecked my stamina lol

    Agreed.

It kind of reminds me of the run Ced Boswell had a few years back as far as older boxers making a run in the twilight of their careers. We'll see if it winds up with a title shot for him like it did Boswell, but I've seen worse fighters than Amir get a shot. Hopefully he can get himself a nice payday or two before time catches up with him.

excellent fight for its level. kauffmans extra weight cost him in the late rounds again. mansours age did the same, but there is no cure for that.

Could Mansour possibly be elevated up into the WBC top 15 off this?

I think Kauffman is ranked by WBC somewhere around 20 ish ?????
