With just over 2 weeks left for the Khan-Barrera fight Roach has given a interview to 'Scene' saying 'Amir reminds him alot of Manny Pacquiao P4P King', and that 'Khan is the 'only' fighter that can run with him in the ring'.

Khan is flying back home this weekend with Roach as they get to the final stages of their training camp. This fight is the biggest test for Khan to date, and can be the making or breaking for the young 22 year old.

March 14 just around the corner, Good Luck to Khan he will need it.

I have no doubt Khan has the speed & offensive skills to stand with Manny when sparring, that's not the issue with him.

I wish him all the best against Barrera but if he does win, it will entirely depend on the Barrera that gets in the ring with him that night whether I will give him much cedit for beating him.

In the same respect, if a tuned up Barrera got in the ring with him and beat him, I wouldn't slate the guy for it but he'll know himself what position that's gonna put him as far as his rankings around the LW division.

Dunno if that makes much sense.

Im looking forward to seeing what roach does with him, hes a very good tacticion and Khan will need to follow them to stand any chance of winning.

Its Joe Public's opinion that would count there as well. They would probably abandon him. One defeat can be forgiven, but two at this stage would see a substantial part of his "uneducated" (in the boxing sense) fan base break away and dissolve.

WTF. Think roach has seriously lost the plot with some of the shite he,s been comin out with. He's lining himself up to look a right tit.
Imo, Kahn and pacquiao both get stopped.

  7. I guess he means speed and stamina which I would imagine to be correct.

As has already been said a lot depends on MAB here and what sort of condition and frame of mind he's in. Obviously a victory for Khan is the best result for him and his career, but should he lose a tough 12 round battle with a Barrera that resembles anything like the one that pushed Pacquiao not too long ago, then he will come out of it with a lot of respect IMO.

Just don't get dropped early doors please.

I hope Roach revitalises Khan and makes him a world force. I think Khan is like Pac in that they were skinny, fast, powerful, chinny guys when Roach took em on.

Khans power is yet to be tested but he certainly has good speed. I agree with most others though, if Barrera is even half of what he was he beats him easily.

I think he's practically contractually obliged to say that Mac.So predictable.Throwing us a crumb.
Its as hollow when Pete Sampras or Roger Federer would say that 'one day Tim Henman could win Wimbleon' to humour the British fans and press during Wimbledon fortnight.:roll:Yeh,sure he will:blood

Not that im putting Roach in the genius bracket of Sampras or Federer BTW.
trainers are hugely over praised these days, but thats a different thread.

STFU Roach is one of the best trainers and tacticians in the sport today, and juts because of his old school mentality of never speaking bad about his own fighters and talking them up.

I respect everything Roach says as he has proved time and time again he is right.

what did he say about Pac-ODLH and he was right

he was right about ODLH-FMJ as he said that ODLHs jab would trouble FMJ

and everyone called him stupid then. and i always have his opinion in high regard

saying taht though i think MAB will beat khan

it was about someone detravcting from roach and i thought it was unjust and wanted to clean it up maybe i went a bit OTT as i admire roach alot getting through parkinsons and becoming a top trainer
