This is boxing? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAJvk4WAO_Q[/ame] It's one of those things where most of the time, someone like Khan would probably get away with it. But he still can't complain much. You can't just shove your opponent away with your forearm because he's trying to fight inside. The first deduction at 1:31 was pretty blatant. The second deduction, he cuffed both hands round Peterson's head then shoved him back. Not only that but when the ref called for a break, Khan pretty blatantly punched late with a shot that landed pretty solid too. I've seen boxers disqualified for less tbh.
I love how ppl see Amir's pushes as more threatening and dastardly than Peterson coming in with his head.
It was constant though, and constantly warned, and the warnings constantly ignored. He could have tried punching with enough authority to keep his opponent at distance. Uppercutting that 'low head' as he came in. Mixing it up on the inside if his opponent had made it in. - Now that'd have been boxing.
:deal show me Khans cuts from his head butting? theres a difference between leaning forward and butting.
We've all seen blatant use of the head in fights over the years but you'd have to be streatching it a bit to say it was particularly evident in this fight. There were no dangerous clashes of the head. Peterson wasn't lunging in with his head he was walking in.
He was caught off balance by a Khan flurry and twisted it. Nothing against Amir Khan, he did all he could do but he only got the stoppage like that because ***an got injured.
why is everyone dying to see a maidana-khan rematch? that fight wasn't that great and maidana isnt even as good as Lamont.
difference is Lamont wasn't headbutting while khan was illegally pushing his head down and pushing him. its like the minority report, should lamont have been prosecuted before committing his foul?
So Khan should have been allowed to mostly run away, push Peterson's head down and hold him in close, then shove him away with his forearms then. Sorted. No more boxing in DC again.
