It should've been a no -contest but so what

Barrera was there to lose and put his name on Khans record, end of story

The Doc is there to protect the fighter, at times from himself.

Anyone see Prizefighter on Tuesday night? Despite the fighter saying he wanted to fight on the bout was stopped following a clash of heads & cut- the fight was stopped the same round it happened....

I know its pre-judging the result but thats pretty much how I feel. Before the fight I didn't think MAB had much of a chance and the fight didn't do anything to change my mind (yep, I know MAB was hindered by the cut).

Agreed - Barrera never really got into the fight. It seemed just from his restricted movements Khan would beat him without the cut. But it certainly did not help matters.

The Doc did not do his job either. His job is to assess the damage. He should not really be thinking about what anybody else is saying, including the fighter. These people are not medical professionals, and its difficult to self-diagnose, even if the fighters instinct and pride says continue. That cut never looked like being workable from the outset, and it certainly didn't provide a fair and balanced fight for the rounds that took place up until the conveniently timed stoppage. I mean how did he decide it was somehow okay after 2 rounds but at 5 it was too much?

The Doc should of had a look at the cut after the 1st round and the fight should of been a No-contest, but it all boils down to money in the end and 20,000 people plus PPV around the world did not want to see the fight end in 1 round nor did Frank or Don they had to let the fight go on and the ref was in on this. Don is now just being a wanker in trying to make more money out of this in trying to get a rematch. Cut or no cut Khan has got MAB's number and a rematch might even make MAB look like a fool. MAB is a legend and now should just retire.

And 3 weeks after the fight King suddenly wants to protest the fight.

How is Barrera a cheat? Also, everyone knows Mexican fighters are all about honour and bravery, of course he wasn't going to quit.

Long time ago when he went all lucha libre against Naz...cheating **** should have been DQ'd.

But as soon as things don't pan out as he might have wanted he gets his promoter to whine like a ***** after the fact.

All King wants is another payday from feeding MAB to Khan again.

There's no way that was worthy of a DQ, he got a point taken for it.

I actually think that King is making a fair and valid point but the last I heard he was congartulating Khan after the fight on "great performance". Guess he has changed his mind.
