I guess it can no longer be said Ruenroeng has nothing on his résumé? :D

In all honesty Ioka brought this on himself. Not the shutout card from Kardyni, but the loss. Until fairly late that was an incredibly low punch volume for a world title challenge.

Plus, as Hans said earlier, Ioka has been in many close ones. You can only just squeak by so many times before the law of averages sets in.

My biggest regret is that Yaegashi has been robbed of the satisfaction of being the one to get revenge and snatch Ioka's zero in an eventual rematch. :sad2

Ioka is overrated, the only guy who can stand up to the ring domination of Ali Raymi is Monster Inoue :boxer

Plus Ioka was not impressive outside 105, this will happen every time weight hoppers fight top 10 natives of the weightclass they are hopping into :hellohi

Inoue is the real deal, he is staying in 108 :boxer

Chocolatito has climbed successfully. (and would have dismantled Ioka and Ruenroeng on the same night, FWIW...)

Kardyni was also the judge in Takayama vs. Ono that had the widest margin, a ridiculous 117-109 for Takayama... (really if you were going to change anything on my 115-112 card - really 115-111 given the 2nd knockdown ruling - it would be to give Ono a share of rounds 1-4, another round or maybe two for him in there where Takayama was boxing at range and Ono was pressuring to make it close)

So he would seem to have been plucked from domestic obscurity and made into a company man to keep the belts around the desired waists.

Maybe the IBF were punishing Ioka for having neglected them while campaigning in his two previous divisions? :conf

Every penny Kazuto has spent on sanctioning fees before today went to either the WBC or the WBA or both. He never bothered unifying with the IBF at 105 or 108.

Bob Arum has said that he plans to get Zou Shiming a world flyweight title shot later this year, and he said that he was specifically targeting Ruenroeng, who was ringside for Shiming's most recent fight. (LOL as if Arum would go after Estrada or Yaegashi!!!). I have not seen the Ruenroeng vs Ioka fight, but if one of the judges was obviously corrupt, especially in this case where the judge in question did NOT favour the "hometown" fighter, then the most obvious explanation is that somehow Arum used his "influence" to obtain his desired outcome of preserving the Ruenroeng vs Shiming world title fight for later this year.

I want to believe that's crazy, but you might be right.

Manufactured title on a silver platter for that hype job.

I am sure Roman Gonzalez beats Ioka, cause Ioka is 105 himself

Omar Narvaez is 112 vs Roman Gonzalez 105, we will see if Gonzalez has superior skills to beat an aging Omar Narvaez...now in 115...Gonzalez heading that way :hellohi
