So here is the crazy sequence in the sixth where both went down in under ten seconds:

(I have timestamped it on the video link, if not working just go to 20:15...)

It all happened so fast and chaotically that with the Ch7 stream being a little choppy it was hard to ascertain exactly what happened - whether both had scored legit knockdowns, or neither, regardless of Pat Russell's official rulings.

Ruenroeng threw a kinda sorta left hook type of thing while he was doing it, but he clearly had a hold on Arroyo with his right arm before clearly flinging him onto the canvas with his left arm bashing in to help make sure he fell hard. That was a foul and pretty flagrant - even though it escalated quickly once Arroyo got up it seemed Russell was making no motion to give Ruenroeng a warning (let alone deducting a point which could arguably have been warranted).

As for Ruenroeng himself going down - it confused me in real-time and I'm still not exactly sure about it now. :huh

Arroyo was throwing spiteful punches, that much is for certain. He was mad about Ruenroeng's judo flip/arm-gavel, firing some of his meanest stuff of the night once resuming his spot in the fray. The only problem is...most of his shots look to have missed. I can't isolate one that landed flush enough to hurt Ruenroeng that bad that he would go down.

My best guess is the long grazing left hook at 20:22/20:23 (20:22.5, let's say) after the set-up hook on the body (which did land pretty well) but even that seems like it shouldn't have caused that reaction...and delayed, at that. Ruenroeng assumed his normal posture a full second after he absorbed that blow, and then seemingly dove in to clinch Arroyo's waist but maybe got dusted with a couple more grazing shots in the attempt? None of them looked to have made great connections, though, so it just seems odd that he took such a long count and looked so dazed.

The left-uppercut to the body hurt him, then the left hook more than grazed him I feel.

The right hand was for nothing. If you can, pause the video after Arroyo lands the left uppercut. Ruenroeoeregerng is going for a comedy clinch while the camera is looking over Arroyo's shoulder, so you get a really good look at him. If Arroyo could have measured him for that right, he could have flattened him I think.

Ruenroeoeregerng is for **** I guess? I mean I wish him the best, that was a reasonably mature performance for his level of experience, but he's not going to get anywhere, is he? He's the kind of guy you'll see pop up on inexplicable undercards at 115lbs in about three years time...i mean he could get better i suppose, and i like that he had a plan for all that it was punch and clutch latterly, because i felt it was Arroyo's planlessness that was letting him in and I think he recognised that.

But yeah, if Estrada wants to tread some water while he waits for someone to offer him decent money to put his life on the line with Gonzalez, he could do a lot worse than beating the **** out of this guy.

    Full agreement.

The lack of power was concern enough, but if compounded by not taking maybe the best shot - yeah. Smart little boxer, and blessed with that reach of his - but as we see more and more of him the bad does seem to outweigh the good, as far as going really far or getting near ever being 'the man'. (especially with such monsters in the waters around him)

You much savvy on Cotón? Figure he could edge Rangringrungraoooong h2h, or as 3rd best fly when the dust settles maybe a year from now? (that is, assuming wildcards Ioka, Yaegashi and Viloria don't rally with some big comebacks, which all seem perfectly capable of doing)

What are the chances of Gonzalez becoming #1 P4P after Floyd retires in September of next year?

Oh man, the more I think about it the funnier it would be seeing the look on Ruenroeng's face when his cheap bull**** fell so utterly flat against Estrada.

If stubby little Arroyo can **** up his day with a left upper-hook on the body...

On the topic of Floyd, I hope he retires sometime in the next year or so, and doesn't become another great fighter who stayed in the game too long, and loses to fighters he would have schooled in his prime.
