Amped about Michael Katsidis vs Juan Diaz ?

Both of these guys were top 10 p4p fighters at the time werent they?
And right now well Rafa might be around 10-11 p4p while Vasquez is top 5 i think.
The skill level is so high here.

I hate this damn drought. At first i didnt think i would mind it since i was planning on watching olympic boxing but i get so angry when i watch it that i just change it.

one of the more underrated fights of the year
a phone booth fight for the most part with very little clinching, both men laying their heads on each others shoulders and just going at it
campbell came in as determined as a fighter can get, bringing full pressure for all 12 rounds, diaz won most of the early rounds, then he was cut (ruled a headbutt but was caused by a punch) and then campbell essentially wore him down
at the end of the fight it was obvious who deserved to win, but the actual result was still kinda up in the air due to the early rounds that diaz had banked and the one point campbell had lost due to the imaginary butt (also rulled intentional)
to paraphrase john david jackson in nate's corner, nate took him to deep water and then he drowned him

so for all these reasons alone you should watch the fight, and i haven't even mentioned the ring announcer victor perez who frickin rocked

 

Ha that was the worst announcer i have ever seen.
It was a great fight too and yes not many people talk about it. They also make it seem like Diaz got whooped when in reality it was a very close fight with Diaz taking almost all the early rounds and nate the late rounds. however it was competitive throughout.

 

Diaz versus Katsidis has potential to be fight of the year...the irresistible force against the immovable object!!

I don't see Kats giving the baby bull as much trouble as the Galaxy Warrior. Nate is much craftier than Michael is...this is assuming that the baby bull is still the same fighter after that battle in Mexico City!!

Either way...one great fight!!

 

This will be a classic.

 

I plan to use this fight as a platform to introduce all of my non boxing and casual boxing friends to how great and entertaining this sport really is.

HBO replay showed that it was a punch that cut Diaz open, the headbutts didn't help of course.

Diaz' corner being completely inept didn't do him any favors either.

 

Headbutt made it worse indeed.
