EZE...it has nothing to do with stamina. Cotto was broken down by a bigger stronger fighter. nothing to do with stamina at all. Why didn't he run out of gas against Mosley and Judah...because cotto was the stronger fighter in those fights. You listen to much to HBO's Jim lampley and Max kellerman. Never giving Margatito any credit for his work during the fight including the first five rounds (not saying he was winning those rounds) but a fight is twlevle rounds not six.
"Cotto won't figure into a war and won't be pushed by Margarito who is a B level fighter at the most" :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy
Yes, and it doesn't mean **** unless you can take the punches and have the will and stamina to go on. Margarito does, therefore he is the better boxer - period. Margarito > Cotto
Without Brooklyn1550 to post for him or make points, Amsterdam's just an arrogant loudmouth. Why so many think he's some expert here is beyond me. i guess that just shows the level of this board, when some ******* who was a lounge rat for years decides he's an expert and people believe him. He can't debate anything unless Sweet Pea, Huki, Tffp or Brooklyn are there to back his nonesense up.
:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl its just amazing how these guys disappeared after the fight
Cotto didn't do everything better than Margarito. Margarito invested more to the body early in the fight, Margarito also changed up his angles coming in which put Cotto off the game and meant Cotto was being caught more as the fight went on. Remembering, at the end of Round 10 (prior to any knock down and prior to any inclination that Margarito was about to dominate) - the scorecards were officially 96-94, 96-94, 95-95. People are trying to make out as if Cotto was dominating the fight early and just ran out of steam, hell no. Margarito changed up his angles, went to the body early on and continued going to the body, kept Cotto under pressure relentlessly throughout the fight and found shots that hurt Cotto - such as the uppercut he started to throw from about the fifth onwards. People are making out as if Cotto was outclassing this guy - maybe he did in one or two rounds, but the fight was dead even after 8 on my scorecard. 4 rounds to 4 rounds, Margarito was already starting to get his own back on Cotto long before Cotto was completely faded.
Beating Cotto doesnt mean anything.Cotto hasnt really beaten a pound for pound fighter.I always predicted that Cotto would be knocked out and he was knocked out.I dont understand the hype. All Cotto did was beating Mosley who is like a pensioner and Zab Judah who had lost so many past fights.People just liked Cotto because of his power punching,it takes more than that to be an elite fighter.
cotto fought a great fight. he 'went down on his sword'. to call him "exposed" is ludicrous! :rofl Margarito did what alot of us expected him to do. Wear cotto down. It was a great and brutal fight. I hope it didn't take too much out of either fighter, though. :think
you can't say Margarito is a B level fighter at his point ... B level skill yes but his tuffness and stamina make up for skill short coming pushing him into the A bracket .
again, some fashionable wizards can't accept that flashy skills isn't everything in boxing. EZE, how dare you call the man who just beat the best welterweight boxer a B level fighter? because he isn't floating like a butterfly and moving from side to side? he may not show this skills in the ring but here is what he 's got that beats more skilled fighters: EFFECTIVITY.
