Really similiar, in all honesty. Iron jaw, relentless workrate, slow, good power, 1 gear.

And also, I think Andrade's a little better, but you aren't going to get many to agree to that right now, we'll see how he does against Bute and some others and see what Marg does next.

May I ask when Cotto has ever used clincing tactics to win him fights??

Cotto boxed, Margarito pursued aggressively and weakened Cotto up with punishing body shots. Its that simple.....Judging by how Cotto has fought in the past, I dont see a damn thing different that he could have done to slow down the TORNADO!:deal :yep

He's inlove with slick skilled looking fighters. Disregarding those who wins through will, power & endurance. And thats where his analysis lack. 9/10 he would pick the more "skilled looking" fighter over a fighter who's proven he can win despite his lacking in "slickness".

I picked Cotto too but when this fight was announced, I was pretty torn as to who would win. I regarded Cotto as the better fighter but Margo having the stylistic advantage. Eventually I got caught in the hype and just believed that Cotto's level above Margo would make up for his stylistic disadvantage.

Yeah, that annoys me too. It can only be one of two things -he genuinely thinks that Margarito is shite, or he's trolling, pretending to think that. We all get them wrong - I got this one wrong - so it's not that that bothers me, nor is it the aggressive style of his posting, that's fine too, it's that if Cotto had won a razor thin decision, Amsterdam would have been lording it up over the forum concerning Cotto's 10-2 domination of Margarito, what did the judges see etc. etc.

Kid's read what he writes, you know?

Not to get all worthy, but a good poster should be searching for the truth in the sport, it's history, it's realities. Not scoring weird political points on the forum. People who are debating his knowledge of fighters, his history of picks are missing the point.

Namely, Amsterdam is more interested in his own truth than any given reality.

If you check Ams' predictions, he always pick people with good skill sets over one-dimensional fighters.

Basically it means the more skilled fighter doesn't always win. The fighter who by most accounts has the stylistic edges and is the more impressive fighter, doesn't always win. There's simply more to boxing sometimes, and a classic battle like last night proved it. Pretty simple.

What I noticed about Bute is that when he does land you see an effect. Alot of the shots Joppy took were not flush punches. He would slip the punch or back off to take some off of the impact. Or he would block with his gloves. Berrio for his own part seemed a bit harder to hit clean even though he was moving forward. But when Bute did land clean it had an obvious impact.

Andrade won't be as hard to find. I think it's because Andrade doesn't slip or back off punches like Joppy showed. And I don't think he moves his head as much as Berrio when stepping in. And I'm pretty sure if Mack could drop him Bute will drop him too. And probably have a more adverse effect.

    happy birthday btw.
