first impression, clearly an athlete. serious handspeed. doesn't know how to deliver his power professionally just yet. fights sort of like an uncoordinated diego corrales. you can tell he's also gonna put some serious muscle on that frame as he matures. considering america's current heavyweight landscape, I think i'll follow him a bit. he clearly has a long way to go but barring some undetected issue the blueprint for a good fighter is there.

I see some decent handspeed in there.

It looks like he needs a lot of work but at only 18 he has the time. Definetely a prospect to keep an eye on

    Good find!

Let's just hope for americas sake he doesnt favor triple cheeseburgers and chilifries over titles.

Seriously though. With the american HW scene what it is, this kid could make an impact as early as 2012, providing he takes and wins 8 or nine more fights by then.

    Stepping up of course.:rofl

Looks decent, although he fight a bit too upright and his technique seems to go south when he gets aggressive, those hooks come pretty wide.

I dont know him, only seen that one fight you posted.

From what I see he's got decent speed, and he's definitely got the height needed to compete at todays heavyweight.

I am concerned though, according to boxrec in his 3rd fight against Lamont Williams (2-1) he won a MD after having had Williams down twice.

My point is that he came close to losing already at that level.

No offence though.. As I said, I dont know much about him, and I'm aware that many learn and develope their skills over the years (Like B-hop who lost his first fight).

Would be nice though to see him up there with the next generation.

Anybody been keeping an eye on George "Monk" Foreman? How's his career progressing, does anybody see him making a serious shot at the heavyweight title in another 4 or 5 years?

From what I know he doesn't have an amateur career, but at least he has been active in the last 14months with 8 KO in 9 pro fights. It looks like he has only just stepped up against a veteran fighter by the name of James Johnson.

From the limited amount of footage I have seen, he has a looooong way to go, and his style isn't anywhere near the same as his fathers.....however when he plants his feet and throws his power shots they almost look identical to his old mans haha.

He certainly has a marketable name, will be very interesting to see how he handles a few more fighters of Johnson's calibre over the next 12-14 months.

After 9 fights, there isn't anything thing that really stands out, I do know his old man is pushing him very slowly through the ranks.

Hmm he's only 18 so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but I'd say if him and Wlad fought in 10 years Wlad would still KO him.

Monk will do just what his old man did, he'll be fighting superbums, and feed off fighters in the lower weight divisions....

The guy has only 4 pro fights, against really bad competition.
Have to see more of him to draw a conclusion.

"Monk" Foreman is the school example of beïng big and strong without standout skill or amateur experience is enough to KO low level HW pro's.
Like Big George said, he's learning on the job. The guys they pummel at this stage sometimes aren't even among the strongest guys in their block.
