If we had an annual professional UK Championship (the tournament would be separate from the British Championship). You could have the 1/4 finals most weights 4 venues around the country at the start of the year. The semi finals around June with the Grand Finals in say the 02 or MEN Arenas as a major event in the Boxing Calender. The 1/4 final would be over 8, semi over 10 & finals as a 12 rounder. Imagine the UK HW Championships QF1 - David Price v Richard Towers QF2 - Larry Olubamiwo v Matt Skelton QF3 - Tom Dallas v John McDermott QF4 - Michael Sprott v Martin Rogan No current title holders eligable for entry 4 venues over the same month on different dates with equivalent 1/4 finals at other weights on the bill
The format is identicle to Prizefighter except that the fights are longer and the tournament takes place over the course of a year
I believe there is a tournament in France called 'coupe de la ligue' which has run in a similar format successfully for many years. Prizefighter works. If the names do not take part it could creat opportunities for other less fashionable fighters
