An Apology to Wlad (and ESB fans of Wlad)

Corrie Sanders was something very special. He was truly awesome, but was blacklisted by the biased. It's a shame, he had so much talent.

 

Wlad is now the archetype heavyweight boxer. He is tall and therefore hard to get to without eating some leather. He is athletic, so he can move and punch for 12 rounds if required as well as time and evade punches. He is strong, so when he hits something, it stays hit. This strategy can be as boring as hell, since it is like a conventional war where only one side has artillery. They bomb the crap out of the other side until they surrender. One side can't get close enough without getting pounded.

What can you do? Until newer more effective strategies are created - nothing. Accept that he is probably the best right now, apart from his brother.

 

I was typing but then in my 2nd window i read this post so now i can just say i agree with all he said.

 

Chagaev is a fat bum. All the heavyweights are.

Look how overweight they are. Since when did heavyweights look like that?

Well written Dinamita. I like to think of myself as balanced when it comes to Wladimir. I have recognized his achievements but have also been critical. Like you I rated Chagaev very highly, and gave him a good chance of pulling the upset. The way that Wladimir dominated and dismantled him was incredibly impressive. I think that Klitschko has finally come into his own as a fighter, and could very possibly be considered a great heavyweight in the future.

I agree. Wlad amazes us in camp everytime. He is in the best shape of his life both body and mind....he is faster then even and still has his power. At this point the only person to stop Wlad is Wlad. As long as he stays focused and enjoys what he does, he will retire before he loses again..IMO
