I have supported Margarito throughout his whole career until recently. I have to admit that I am pissed off that he tried to cheat. He not only disgraced himself but his family, his fans, Tijuana, and Mexican greats of yesteryear with this pathetic attempt. To claim ignorance is useless at this point in time. I agree that he should have gotten a harsher punishment; however, I wouldn't know what would be just.

Being a fair person, you have to take into account that others have cheated and gotten away with it, i.e., Tito, Mosley, Vargas (though he also got caught unlike Mosely), and others we don't know about.

What I do know is that there is slight proof that Margarito may not have been using loaded gloves prior to this fight. Before the Cotto fight, Cintron was quoted as saying, "Margarito isn't really a big puncher." Don't know if anyone else remembers that, and I am not saying this excuses Margarito, but again, a fair-minded person would take that into account. Cotto, to my knowledge, also didn't come out on record and say that Margarito was a devastatingly big puncher. Just food for thought.

Would I support Margarito again? As of right now, I have to say no. Just really disappointed that he resorted to this BS. Don't know what else to say that hasn't already been said.

His career is over, so there's no reason to ever think of supporting him again.

Even if he does ever get a decent fight, it's not like he could actually beat anyone without cheating.

Well no matter what happens, I believe Cotto is going to want a second crack at Margarito. Margarito on the other hand will have to take it on Cotto's terms in order to prove he did not cheat the first time.

Thats because his punches weren't devasting in the early rounds and
Margie's power didn't pick up in the later rounds...the gloves just began
    to hurt more....I wonder why?

Cotto doesn't talk crap....so, you wouldn't hear anything of that nature
    come from Cotto.

Cotto wasn't knocked the **** out. He quit. It's not as if Margarito's punches were knocking him on his ass and was seriously hurt. Even you and others have said that Cotto quit because he was TIRED not because he couldn't get up from a punch, which would have been more proof that Margarito may have had his gloves loaded in that fight.

Bottom line is that Margarito got caught trying to cheat. I don't agree with what he did and am pissed that he resorted to this. However, there are issues that lead me to believe that he may not have had his gloves loaded in other fights.

Well that contradicts the statements made about the same wraps being reused.

Whatever the case, I agree with the original poster. A big dissapointment.

OK... but why would he suddenly up and decide to use that **** now... for the first time?

Mosley was considered a much easier fight for Marg than Cotto, Williams, Clottey, or even Cintron in their first fight....

So why try it now all of a sudden?... and not for prior, supposedly more dangerous opponents?

That makes no sense to me... It's easier to believe he was using it all along.

I became a fan after the fight against cotto, mainly for his guts because margarito is far from a great boxer but after this I don't know. I don't want to say margarito cheated in previous fights but the doubt will be there forever. What i don't like is the stupid people making racist comments about the mexican culture, you motha****as have no class and would not dare to say such things infront of us. Overall, if margarito cheated in previous fights he should be banned from the sport, thankfully that was caught before the fight and nothing bad happened.

I was a huge Margarito fan until this incident. I loved his stalking style wearing you down like JCC. I cant tell new people i meet i liked the guy because everyone wants his head. Would i be a flake or something for not supporting him on a "HONEST" comeback?
