I've heard he was the recipient of some gifts over the years. Anyone know some fights he was given offhand?
A varying array of D and C level fighters he could milk for cash after picking up his belts and never leaving Germany. Seems like a great set of gifts to me :think
Byron Mitchell Charles Brewer x 2 Robin Reid Mads Larsen David Starie Basically this guy was mainly the guy who ****ed up Calzaghe's career. Refused to fight him and robbed other fighters of the belts Calzaghe would have picked up sooner had Brewer and Mitchell had the belts.
I thought he beat Mitchell pretty clearly. Brewer 2 could have gone either way, 1 was bull****. Reid was an absolute farce...Larsen was hard done by...my memory could be betraying me but I think I remember the Starie fight not being that controversial, don't hold me to that. Johnson arguably beat him to but I didn't think that was that bad a decision at the time.
Lol man why is Ottke the brunt of all boxing jokes? Hahah he has to be the most joked about (wouldn't call it "hated", cause it's not really as passionate as Klitschko, Floyd, Pacquiao, Calzaghe hate). . . Was he really THAT much different from a lot of guys who never leave their backyard to fight? He had a BEAST of an ammy career, even beating Antonio Tarver. . . He had a win over a young, prime Glencoffe Johnson (close fight, but not a robbery). . This content is protected , but Ottke did his thing - carefull picking shots, and scoring those "amateur style" points. And watching that "ONE SHOT N' DROP" KO of Mundine just never gets old. . . That was an undefeated Mundine as well! This content is protected He really wasn't taht bad of a boxer. . . Solid little boxer. . .
