Riddick Bowe v.s Ray Mercer 94-96 :bbb I think with their styles, it would have been even better than Lewis v.s Mercer. My pick would be Bowe by SD in a back and forth brawl
Can it be described as an awesome fight...if it never happened... i think it had 50/50 potential to be a delight or a dud..

Agreed:good!Another couple of fights that I would loved to have seen were Marlon Starling vs Milton McCrory, and Greg Page dueling it up with Michael Dokes.
The ultimate one, in my lifetime, would have been the Galindez-Conteh scrap circa autumn of 1975. Recall that John UD'd the tough Jorge Ahumada prior and Victor left Len Hutchins sitting on his stool to crown 'two champs' in the wake of Foster's awkward retirement. This wasn't the war-torn Victor many remember in the latter part of the 70's or the oft-broken right hand John that sent his career downhill at the same time. My friends and I spent hours debating this one. For those familiar with this time frame please weigh in with your comments. Note: this thread reminds me of another what if matchup. Jorge Ahumada vs. Yaqui Lopez pvp? Would have loved to have had a dog and a beer ringside for that one!
My vote would go to Matthew Saad Muhammad against James Scott in 1979. Substituting Eddie Mustafa Muhammad for Scott the next year, which I believe was actually scheduled and then cancelled through the MAPS scandal, would have been almost as good.
I see Riddick as a much better fighter than Mercer and he would have beaten him by decision. I do think Riddick not fighting Lennox was a shame. They should have fought. I think Riddick saw how tough Lennox was and didn't want a part of him.
Would have loved to see Tito vs Shane Mosley in the late 90s,early 00s,i think Mosley stops him late in a thriller..
