    Great film.

I don't think anyone else was quite such a physical force as George was. Such brute strength. Instinct. And great radar.

Always great to see how Foreman got more calculated with his power shots as he got older. Then he just stands there after the knockout punch!

He only destroyed 2 atgs in 2 rounds that were in their prime. Name 3 other fighters that have done that? Young George was the most intimidating fighter i have ever seen. And if you werent intimidated and followed your own gameplan like Frazier did, you get destroyed.

I don't understand this post. If you were able to intimidate an opponent, then victory over that opponent cannot count toward your greatness as a fighter?

I hope that isn't what you mean, because that would not respect what it takes to intimidate a world-class, professional fighter.

No one who fights, much less professionally, is easily intimidated.

And mere mortals cannot comprehend how hard it is to intimidate someone who has had enough amateur and professional fights to rise to the top ranks.

But then someone comes along who can scare a man like that? I'd say that counts for a helluva lot in a fighter's column. Fighters weren't intimidated by Sonny Liston, George Foreman or Mike Tyson because of their scowls. Nobody who goes around mean-muggin' without the tools to back it up was ever going to intimidate Ken Norton.

Agreed, looking like your dangerous but having nothing in your history to back that up, means absolutely nothing to a Pro opponent . When you look at most of the great intimdaters in the history of the fight game most have a real record of destruction in their history. From a Dempsey to a Liston A Duran, Hearns, Tyson, Mcclean, Hagler Forrman a few others they gave the impression that if their opponent died, they would be ok with it. They were absolutely ruthless in the ring. They didn't enter THE ring to win but to destroy. That s what makes a great intimdater.
