Pong just got trashed by Sonny Boy Jaro.

Lost his ring mag and his official designationas the best fly in the world.

I'll be very surprised if there's a bigger upset this year - I really didn't entertain the possibility Wonjongkam would lose.

The fact he was just named the WBC's Fighter of the Decade makes it even more embarrassing.

Although I'm happy for my compatriot, I can't help but feel sad for Pong as well.

Sonny Boy Jaro was muscular as ****...

He also looked like Sebastian Lujan and Miguel Cotto.

Allow me to let you on a little secret. The guy just can't make 108 anymore.

    Ho looks ripped at 112.

Yeah, it's always a bit sad to see a respected veteran get crushed like that. The surprising thing was that he didn't show any real signs of decline prior to this fight.

Did you think much of Jaro or his chances heading in? I have to be honest, he wasn't really on my radar as any sort of threat.

He looks very strong for the weight. Looking forward to seeing him again.

honestly mate, i believe he is capable, but im just not sure if he would capitalize on the opportunity.

I mean, in majority of his losses, it's just like he gave up as soon as he got hurt.

at least he proved me wrong.

That's how I actually foresaw his bout with Segura going in. Well, better late than never.

Question - does this make Jaro the second worst lineal titlist in history, after Luis Santana? I've seen Jaro a bunch, and while he has good power and is tenacious, guy really can't fight worth a lick. He's probably around the same range as Bernard Benton (who was lineal at cruiser back when half the ABCs didn't even recognize the weight class). Or maybe Prudencio Cardona, who finished his career at 40-23? Still, he's got to be up there.

He had shown some signs of decline, at least when his opponent came to brawl. He struggled pretty badly against Suriyan, who while he's not a bad fighter, ain't a great one either. Also, he lost to Naito about 5 years ago, who was someone Pong had crushed multiple times before. The past 5 years, he's been operating at about 75% of peak. That said, he looked good against Sosa, who was the legit #2 in the weight class, plus he was at home, so it's pretty shocking.

Jaro was inspired? I am not a fan of this guy.But he trained like an animal for this fight like Manny.Minus a conditioning coach and nutritionist that is knowledgeable about juices.Jaro caught Pong at the right time.Pong is old, past prime, weight drained, and shot etc.Jaro dropped Sosa stunned the Mexican crowd. He got stopped by Segura with a body shot.

Well, the Naito series was pretty strange. After Pong destroyed him in record time in their first fight, he had a decision win then a draw before eventually losing. The way he rebounded against Kameda and Sosa was impressive and, let's not forget, Naito is a very good fighter in his own right.

I know Wonjongkam wasn't getting any better but I still thought he had enough to beat any other fighter in the division. I never envisaged this happening.
