My darling wife as booked me an evening with one of my first sporting heroes Frank Bruno in February. has anybody ever been to one of these events and know what to expect.i have loads of questions in my head I would like to ask him, what questions would the people on this forum ask him.
I did one almost exactly a year ago in Hoddesdon. The stories were a little rehearsed but it was a good craic. It was a treat for the old man as he was a huge fan (I was nearly called Frank as a result) & they read out a question my Dad submitted about Gary Mason which was good. For us the night was decent value, but msg me if you want to know more
Met him a few years ago at a similar event. The question I asked was - how do you feel standing in the ring watching a menacing Iron Mike Tyson walking towards the ring? Very good evening and he is very honest about his career and life struggles.
His reponse was ' it may be hard to believe knowing what was coming but I had no fear at all and focussed on the first bell'.
Went to one with Mayweather 4 years ago. Q&A was starting at 6 o’clock but paid extra to go in at 3 o’clock and have a photo and meal. He turned up just before 6 and to top it off it was hosted by Kugan.
Can’t remember now mate but if it was a freebie I’d have felt ripped off. Was proper crap. Had some horrendous yellow tracksuit on, was asked the worst questions ever from Kugan then fcked off.
