An evening with Ricky Hatton

My cousin is going to one in a few weeks

 

I'm going on Tuesday in Belfast, not to bothereed about the jokes, just what he's got to say for himself, lookin forward to Bruno as well

 

Ricky's dad is the only man who's got a full length photograph for his passport picture.

When the rice crispies hear Ricky's mom, they don't snap, crackle and pop, they say 'shhhh, she's coming'

 

They might even have been funny the 12th time

 

Brilliant evening for insomniacs.

 

I think my pick for an evening would be Sugar Ray Leonard.

 

I wouldn't mind spending the evening dining with the De La Hoya's. Especially if Millie was for dessert.

I very much enjoyed your recommendation 'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring' in the movie thread.

 

Great film, have a look at some of the other recomendations I made in McGrains thread, probablly like a few of them. I tend to uncover gems from time to time.

 

Any other Asian films? I'm a fan...visually they are superb.

Raise the Red Lantern is interesting. Generally any film with Gong Li in it is usually very highly regarded

And some of Jackie Chans earlier films were set in beautiful landscapes - Young Master, Project A and Drunken Master are phenominal

 

Yep Jackie Chan films pre-hollywood were fantastic (some of his American films are good too). My favourite has to be police story though. As you say Project A and Drunken Master are great too.

Hard Boiled (best action film ever made)
The Killer (not far behind)

Then there are films like:

In the Mood for Love

All very good or great films, the work of Wong Kar Wai is broadly similar to 'Spring, Summer...'

French cinema is more my area of expertise though.
