What if Cormier rakes and pokes Stipes eyes again? How should Miocic react to this scenario if it happens a second time? This tactic obviously puts the recipient at an extreme disadvantage.

Are you still claiming the damage on Cormier's face came from scratches and not punches?

As for your question, Miocic, if purposefully eye poked again, without the ref deducting a point, he should use his reach and absolutely jab a finger deep into Cormier's eye socket, turning that eyeball into mush.

The scratches on Stipe's face came from finger nails and not a closed fist.

Theres video evidence his fingers went in to Stipes eyes, its not a debate, what people are debating is whether it was on purpose, which imo is YES..He is a world class trained athlete that cant keep a clench fist ?? Really ??…I thought he was properly on the level, even a fan, now I just view him as a cheat

I feel the same way about Cormier. Say what you want about Jon Jones, he has never resorted to dirty tactics that could possibly blind someone.

Once with no retaliation I can half understand, you expect ref to sort it, but in the rematch if Stipe has the problem with him again and doesn't resort to low tactics or even walk out himself, then he deserves it, cause a ****ing riot, don't pretend it didn't happen like last time

Stipe should be prepared since It looked like it was premeditated and part of Cormier's game plan the first time. The funny thing is it's never brought up or addressed by the media.

Or by Stipe either, I understand coming out with excuses if you lose can look like sour grapes, but this was legitimate

In all probability there was an agreement reached ensuring Miocic remained silent about the gouging in order to get the rematch.

Are fighters allowed to fight with unclipped finger nails?

I saw the one eye poke, there may have been another in a clinch. Give me the time stamps for what you are claiming. We can also look at the punches Miocic ate as well.

I disagree. Miocic just seems like a blue collar stand up guy. He's not going to make that excuse. He got purposefully poked in the eye, once that I saw. That had no bearing on him getting KO'd. Some of you are crying like it was an eye poke, right hand combo that put his lights out.

Cormier definitely poked him in the eye on purpose. That was clear on video replay. His hand opened, and his fingers extended right into Miocic's eye. Dirty ****. The multiple eye pokes and scratches though seem like bull**** excuses from butt sore fans. Miocic's skin type, getting punched by a 260 pound man, with four ounce gloves on, will definitely have abrasions, bruises, and cuts, from the impact of those punches.

One eye poke could be enough to change the outcome of a fight, and as far as I can tell there were multiple attempts . The nature of his abrasions aren't consistent with being caused by closed fisted contact.
