An interesting insight into the world of Amir Khan

Pre-Prescott Khan was a more exciting fighter to watch.

 

But now he's even more interesting. He has to basically avoid getting hit for 12 rounds whilst boxing beautifully at mid-range. Freddie Roach dares to train a boy to put on masterlasses and I for one will b willing to watch. Although impressive, beating Kotelnik and Salita would not be as impressive as boxing to order against a rhythm breaker.

 

To successfully pull this off he has to develop some power, just to make his opposition think twice about stepping in. If he doesn't then someone is just going to walk straight through him.

 

Agree 100%. at the same time, setting his feet is going to leave him prone to getting clobbered. I'm sure Roach will be showing him angles where he isn't there to be hit bit can get off some good shots. I honestly don't believe he'll go that far. He's like Norris-lite; worse chin and not as skilled.

 

I think this is as far as Khan will go; I can't see him surviving a step up in class. His chin, limited arsenal and robotic nature (among other negatives) will stop him from getting any further, at LW, LWW, WW, whatever.

 

That's right, KHAN NEEDS MORE POWER.

Why does everyone bring race into it?

The fact Amir is a paper champ has nothing to do with ethnicity !

 

There are other "paper" champs in the division but these fighters never seem to attract the same level of bile that Khan does. To say that race doesn't play a part is a bit naive (not suggesting that this applies to you)

He filled Arena's all over the British Isles and all his fights got top viewing figures back in the day...They packed out MSG and the MGM when he went across the pond...

Were they tuning in to watch him get his arse kicked???...:think...I don't think so....he was pure entertainment from the ring entrance to the interviews post fight...especially with Larry Merchant!!!...:good

MAB is my favourite fighter so I have no bias here, he out boxed and out thought Naz all night long...:yep

 

You do have a slight point there, I am also slightly guilty of it but on this occasion I was referring to another point. I think the race aspect is always raised due to the fact of the hatred directed towards it.

 

Khan is decent, but as has been said before he was more exciting at first, and him ****ing people up with his car (forget the whole story) and getting away with it too is disgraceful. **** happens though, he seems like any other decent young lad.

 

I have faith in Khan's chin at 140 more than at 135, Khan will have have to face a puncher next (Maidana) if he beats Salita. Lets see how much faith Roach and Warren have in him? I dont want him to drop the belt, if he does I will lose respect for Khan myself.

I think Khan can outbox Maidana and win via UD or even late TKO, But even if Khan beats him some people will still wont give him credit and find someway to bring him down.

If Khan comes though that I dont really see him having problems beating Bradley 5'6 or Devon 5'7, and 2010 can be the making or breaking of Khan, but never count Khan out as I feel by end of 2010 he can be WBA/WBC/WBO unified World Champion lets wait and see.

 

Bradley's height has nothing to do with it. He has all the tools to make 12 rounds of hell for Amir

 

Bradley is a good fighter and would be Khan hardest fight at 140 bar Manny, but I feel Khan can overcome him and beat him.
