Floyd got criticized for merely "thinking" about fighting Hattion... Pull up the threads. People were putting up poll after poll aout which fight did you want to see. People were talking about how much of a ***** he is because he "is going to fight" Hatton or Paulie.

So why can't he get praised for "thinking" about fighting Shane?

It has to work both ways.

the reason he gets praise is because haters been saying hes ducked mosley for years (even though it was the other way round for most of it) becuase shane would beat him. now that hes actually fighting shane (probably) the same people are saying shane is shot and not a real challenge.

So you were obviously against Pacquiao asking for the $10m penalty for coming in over weight right? NSAC already has provisions fining fighters for coming in over weight.

Pacman could have fought Mosley as he was already available after Pacman defeated Hatton.

Playing devils advocate and using Mayweather hater type of logic. I could automatically assume that Pacman ducked Mosley. Since he defeated Margo a few months prior and had more buzz then Cotto at the time. Was also available and willing. He could have fought Mosley then fought the winner of the Cotto-Clottey fight rather then bypass Mosley in order to wait for Cotto.

But I also understand that Cotto is under top rank while Mosley is under GBP. So Arum was more interested in putting Cotto vs Pacman together then Pacman vs Mosley.

you aren't? yet what did you say in your post?

    Mosley is old and inactive.

You're already discrediting Floyd for wanting the fight.

    you're a hypocrite.

    Not this again.

Stupid comparison. Pac has NEVER tested positive for anything, so there was no justification for these demands from MW. The million dollar penalty amount is totally irrelevant. It doesn't matter what it is, whether 10 million, 20 million, 100 million. The point of the clause was to make it LARGE ENOUGH to prevent Mayweather from gaining any major advantage by coming in at higher than the WW limit. Mayweather obviously agreed to it because he is obviously confident of making the 147 limit - a weight he has NEVER had trouble making. The fact that he agreed to the demand isn't any major concession by him, considering he KNOWS he will make the weight, and he KNOWS he is in no danger of paying the $10 million, since there is an incentive for him to do so. A $300,000 per pound clause was obviously not enough of an incentive in his previous fight, an amount Marquez clearly underestimated which resulted in an uneven playing field.

I'm sick of these people comparing the 10mil demand to blood testing. Show some objectivity, and put the two demands in context, before coming back with "so Pac's demand of $10 million was reasonable?". If MW had requested this of Mosley then it would be perfectly justifiable considering his recent past, however there is no justification in asking it for Manny.
