I don't necessarily agree but he has some interesting takes. ^^ you'd all go insane when its round eight and mayweather is asking unca roger to stop the fight lol
I said from the get-go that Pac's best chance to win would be to win on aggression...forcing Floyd to be overly defensive. That is how De La Hoya almost beat him, and how Castillo (technically) beat him. I don't see Pacquiao knocking Mayweather out, but then again, I didn't see Tarver knocking Jones out either.
quite a bit over the top but does make a few points. i agree that floyd is going to have a hard time being floyd once he realizes that pac is regularly geting hard punches past his defence (and he will). i dont think his offensive work rate is enough to stay even with a guy as relentless and determined as pac. pac, when hit, immediately fires back in combinations, and this alone will deter floyd from taking enough chances to overcome pacs volume punching. i understand why many fans feel floyd will win and i have considered the points they bring up as evidence. if floyd had gotten to where he is today by beating all the best along the way then i would most certainly put my money on floyd. from what i have seen of him against some of his opponents i feel pac will be too much and people will see what i believe i allready see. if floyd beats pac then i will have been proven wrong and i will be much more appreciative of floyds skill.
The writer seriously underestimates Floyd's ability to adapt. Good thing he isn't on Team Pacquiao. I do agree on the game plan though. Pac cannot just outbox Floyd. He's going to have to mix it up and go on a rampage like Barrera I and David Diaz, with better defense. He'll have to incorporate the features of his last 4 fights into this fight, aggression (Diaz), footwork and elusveness (De La Hoya), brutality (Hatton), and resiliency and adaptability (Cotto).
if pacman enters the ring with vengeance on his mind he'll be even easier for floyd to hit than he already is. It doesn't matter if he hits hard because he'll be hitting nothing but air and when he gets winded from that, the holes in his defense will become even more apparent. easy pickings
When the hell did Pac ever show he was ever winded in any fights? His training staff have to beg him stop training. His whole staff tires before he does in the gym. He sneaks out to jog on his off training days against his trainer's orders. Do you really know what you are talking about?
The plan laid out will work for 4 rounds. After that Mayweather figures things out starts to counter Pacquaio. Taking advantage of his longer reach and faster speed.
This is just as silly a thing to say as that nonsense in the opening post. You are all gonna be in for a shock on march 13th & its gonna be hard to take because you actually believe this **** because you dont know ****. Mayweather will be too good for Pacquiao, believe it.
The article makes it sound as though Floyd is going to be sitting on the ropes the whole fight, not throwing punches and letting Pacquiao unload 30 punch combinations on him. Tell the author that Floyd has great footspeed and can move, and then tell him to re-analyze the fight. Pacquiao will find it difficult to pin Floyd down. He's not stupid, he's knows that the Philly Shell defence is fine for picking off single or low-level combinations, but he's not going to sit there on the ropes trying to pick off 20-30 punches. Either he doesn't think Floyd will move at all, or he ignores the fact he a reach advantage with the understanding of range, jab, timing, footwork and ring IQ.
Floyd will keep his space by backpedaling or fighting off his back foot luring a agressive fighter like pac in who is not worried about defense....those sharp straights and jabs will cause a lot of problems comming in and out....but then again Pac does use great angles when going in and out so this will be a great fight.
