Let's go back to 1988 following Tyson's demolition of Spinks. What if I had told you that there was an Olympic junior middleweight amateur who would go on to win world titles at middleweight, super middleweight, and light heavyweight? Not only would he beat two arguably top 100 fighters of all-time in the process, but he would go through his prime losing just a handful of rounds while his only loss was the result of a disqualification when he essentially knocked his opponent out. That same former junior middleweight would later win a heavyweight title with a win over a top 5 heavyweight and open in Las Vegas as a 2-1 favorite over the same Mike Tyson who had previously demolished Michael Spinks. Knowing all this, would you not think that the fighter in question would have a case for the greatest fighter in history? Just an interesting perspective. I have Roy Jones in the Top 30 greatest fighters of all-time, just in case you wonder where I rank him.
When he competes and very well could beat Joe Calzaghe, his "aura" comes back in my view and ultimately, I think his achievements are unparalleled but I could be biased, his skillset always made me smile. I think he'll be higher ranked in 15-20 years than he is now.
The opening post is what Max Kellerman said in the opening of the Trinidad vs Jones PPV,don't try to steal Max's lines man...
I agree with what your saying, exept for one thing. He was not a favorite over the SAME Mike Tyson that tore Spinks out of his skin suit. lol.
thats not even Kellermans words ive read that a long time ago if im not mistaken it was some guy that writes for the Ring that wrote that.
:deal nice one man yes in about 20 years he will be higher up the rankings he is in my mid 20's roughly if i have a quick think
hey i feel max is not that bad he just is a little green and the big events get to the kid give him abit of time, i know he will never be a match for ATG merchant but no one will be able to
Well if he gets to 20 years in HBO he might turn out a ATG himself, right now he seems a *****.And btw Doug Fisher STFU!!!
Fisher is another idiot i rather watch the fights with the sound off than listenining to the **** those two have to say.
Thing with Fisher is Genaro Hernandez never disagrees with him,he is a nice guy and a former fighter who just looks to keep a job,and Rich Moratta ain't that bad but as a whole that team is :dead :dead :dead :dead :dead They just remind me how much I hate them, hearing them at Lopez's fight, lucky it was short
