Zoran Sekularac, a middleweight from Serbia, celebrates his 60th birthday today. He is the oldest active boxer in the world, having had last pro fight just a month ago (LRTD4 to 29 y.o. Sergej Wotschel, 10-3-1). Sekularac made his pro debut in 1993, at almost 35. He is 17-7 as a pro, having scored three wins after turning 55. He beat Slobodan Culum twice (who is 31 years younger). And his most recent win came at 57, when he stopped in 2 rounds Slobodan Dragic, who is 35 years younger than Sekularac. Can he surpass the record of Saul Mamby, who had his last pro fight at the age of 60 years and 9 months? Why not. Wish him well and good luck for an old guy!
Interesting, I figure Saul will at least hold his longevity record for awhile, I mean Christ, fighting as a pro in 5 different decades (pro in '69, last bout '08 wtf), boggles my mind.
Mamby probably has the longest career ever. 39 years, even McCall with his 33-year career isn't close
ODLH said everybody will be shocked by Canelo's next opponent, so you might be right LOL. Still better than Rocky Fielding though
