I actually prefer fighters like prime James Toney, prime Marvin Hagler, prime Sugar Ray Leonard, over brawlers.

Except he DID NOT QUIT though?? His corner pulled him out? Did u watch the fight????

And yes his children are irrelevant to you, you ****ing brainless vicious ******, do you think it was irrelevant to Miguel Cotto and Evangelista Cotto, the people that are being condemned here???? Miguel had his family to think of, both their presence in the crowd AND their future with a father whose brain is not turned to mush by being punched in to satisfy your idea of being a man.

I didn't really see it as quitting. The guy took a knee, then took another knee. At the time, I thought it was a pretty smart tactic. I thought he was trying to get himself back together to make one last attempt to win the fight. I don't see taking a knee as quitting. His much maligned uncle, then chose to throw in the towel. He did the right thing for his nephew. Despite all the bad blood, I hope Miguel realizes that his uncle treated him with love and not just like a meal ticket. I thought Cotto fought a tremendous fight and was just beaten by the better man.
    Good post PacFan.

Precisely. And as I stated in the start of this thread, the FACTS prove Evangelista Cotto did 100% the right and honourable thing as a man.

I have written what I think. I think I did it in a non-childish way. Many posters insulted me and acted like children, though.

Things are not black or white.

Cotto undeniably showed signs that he didn't want to continue the fight.

What facts prove he did the right thing?

Cotto looked at his corner when he took the 2nd knee. He was looking for a way out, stop trying to deny the fact. He was mentally broken and looking for an out.

He quit. Now maybe I was premature in labeling him a quitter, because this is the first and only instance of him quitting, but it definitely is going to make me question his heart and will.

Mccall didnt quit. The ref stopped the fight because Lewis landed like 100 unanswered punches.

I find it difficult to debate with you as I find your posts on here today offensive as a man, a fan, and a human being. To call a man a quitter when he has taken literally hundreds of punches to the head, is spraying blood out his face, and is on the point of exhaustion, I'm sorry but I think it is despicable.

Cotto showed signs he didn't want to continue? Unlike you, I don't make assumptions like that of what is going on in a man's head. Instead, I take into consideration the real, outward signs, that his face was a mess and I had watched it being punched by a very powerful opponent. Those 'signs' mean more than your amateurish analysis of his body language. Please stop posting, it is making me feel sick having to defend a warrior who gave us such a magnificent fight.

Read the start of the thread. The FACTS prove the fight was lost at the time of the stoppage. It is a FACT as you can see by adding up the points. The fight was lost, Cotto could not win, so why would his uncle let him take many more punches to the head??

Can you deny this fact??? If you want me to add it up for you again, I will.

Exactly. Don't waste your time with these morons. They're undoubtedly ugly fat ****s who have probably never had a woman in their lives. Bitter geeks, who's greatest aspiration in life is to talk **** on an internet forum about men who will achieve more in one night than they will in their entire pathetic lives.

My only problem with this is that you assume that Cotto's corner knew the scorecards when they clearly didn't.
