Does it really matter? Whats your motivation for that comment?

So in boxing, a sport where anything can happen it is ok to accept defeat when things look over? If that is how you feel fine, we will just agree to disagree. In all things in life it is never acceptable to give up just because things look bad, but that is what separates the legends for those who are just good.

He could have taken more punches. That doesn't change the fact of what he did at the end.

He was brave, and then he wasn't so brave (but was intelligent). Both things can coexist.

Of course I write about what I saw. What I saw was that that man didn't want to continue.

Give us an example of when you didn't give up which was comparable to what Cotto was going through.

I'm a huge Mayweather fan but we both know he would have never made it to the 11th round against Margarito before being KO'd, he knows it too, that's why he's retired.
Cotto fought brilliantly but came up short against the better man on Saturday night. He did not quit, he gave everything he had and was completely wasted, he could not get his hands up to protect himself.
That Cotto on Saturday beats anyone else in the WW division, Floyd included.

    Great,this needed to be said.:happy
To try and strip a warrior like Cotto of his honour and dignity, after what he's been through(Saturday and other fights)is a disgrace.
I was thinking of doing a thread like this, but no need now.:thumbsup

    Two things that can't coexist:

    Asterion and an intelligent post.

Just drawing attention to it. Nothing more. I picked Cotto to win this fight and was cheering for him.

That matters nothing. I am talking about PROOF. If Evangelista Cotto panicked that his nephew was going to get badly, dangerously KO'd and pulled him out for that reason, he is PROVED to have made the right decision by the facts as the fight WAS over by then.

    Don't misunderstood me.

I have a great respect for Cotto. I don't think that quitting makes him less man.

It is you and your bunch of narrow-minded idiots the ones who make a scandal about it.

You, clearly, have Cotto's ***** in your hands, and that's why you can't write a rational post without insults. :good
