He could have taken more punches!

He could have taken more punches.
He could have taken more punches.
He could have taken more punches.

WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?!?!?!?! Think about what you're saying man! Think! This is getting sinister. What is wrong with someone who is disappointed that the fight ended when a man covered in blood and at the point of exhaustion 'could have taken more punches'? Til what point? Til he slipped into unconsciousnes? Til his face broke? Til something worse?! I have to stop this thread, I'm becoming too upset. This is the attitude that is going to end boxing.

I ran a 10K marathon, not a big thing but I ran it wrong. I tried to run with the ****ing pros at their pace and it ****ed my ass up big time. I feel back hard but I finished eventually, my body was killing me at the end but like I said I finished.

Is it getting punched in the head, nope. Is it still physically taxing, yes extremely, especially when you run the wrong type of race.

Does any of that matter, nope. The principle is still the same, the great ones in all sports battle through pain and do not quit or look for a way out, that is part of what makes them great. Is that damaging to them, hell yeah, but the cost of greatness demands nothing less.

Now please seperate me saying Cotto quit, from saying he has no talent or did not put on a hell of a show.

    What I was saying was:

-Doesn't matter if Cotto took few or many punches...He quit.

There were valid reasons to do it, though.

Just like Vitali Klitschko had a torn rotator cuff and quit, Cotto received too much punishment and went down without being touched, showing -what I think are- clear signs that he wanted to quit.

Im not going to call him a quiter, but he was mentally hurt in the later rounds. Kept turning his back and walking away, ok, not exatly like that, but he did it alot, as if he was saying 'i want away from this mad man' and i dont think that anyone can blame him

Cotto hit Margo with everything he could have and couldnt even make him take a back step...it was unreal to watch!

Do i know if he quit? Nah i dont think so, its a stupid phrased used by unknowledgable fans. I DO however believe that Margo had got inside his head and broke his heart as much as anything...

I feel sorry for Cotto, i hope he comes back strong

Respect man that was nicely put

i think its just that puerto ricans had alot of tension against the mexican, and vice versa, and both nations having warriors and fearless boxers hu dont believe in the principle of 'saftey first' and hold alot of pride, they were shocked that cotto wanted to retreat.

**** Cotto, you're the man! 10 ****ing K's? That's tougher taking 600 power shots from Margarito any day. Respect that you actually finished and didn't give up. Miguel could learn a lot from you. Hope you get the chance to meet him face to face one day and tell him how you feel.

You are the most titanic moron I have ever read on here. Don't reply again on this thread please, let us debate the issue without your brilliant posts about you getting a sore tummy on a charity fun-run.

    Mull over this question though:

would you have had more respect for Cotto if he had waved Evangelista down, Bayless had let him continue, and he had been permenantly damaged? Is that more honourable than the ending we got?

    Now **** OFF.

lol ah man, Every1 here are some of thee biggest nuthuggers I have ever seen. Fact Cotto fought a smart fight, fought like a true champion, he used a very smart gameplan to bring him what he thought couldve been a win. BUT HE DID QUIT, not physically, but MENTALLY. From he got hurt the 1st time, the momentum in the fight changed and if you were watching the fight even Manny said it, COtto is in survival mode. He wished the fight could b over. He got hurt one time and after the pressure kept coming he packed it in. He didnt want to keep going, he wished the fight could b over. His corner was smart 4 throwing in the towel. BUT after gettin hurt he gave in mentally, and that is a fact

    Technically, he didn't quit.

He just had the behaviour of a quitter. After a great fight, a not so great finale for him.

At least you're honest but I think too many people on this site are showing traits that they are probably watching the sport for the wrong reasons. So because you finished the race do you think you have greater will than Cotto?
