Hang on a second.. Hopkins clearly past it?!.. who's just come off dismantling the undisputed middle weight champ hailed as the next big thing, seen as generally p4p top 5 and even reaching as high as 3 in some peoples p4p. Woah.. He's clearly past it, what a bum he is. Hopkins is a freak of nature, stop trying to put his age before his actual ability as a world class boxer.

Lacy was dangerous, Eubank was a test for a young Calzaghe pyling his trade.

So why not be honest and critique the names that were chosen, rather than someone who was never intended to be there. It's not like even the most ardent Calzaghe fans don't accept that there's a two or three year period in the middle of his career where his opposition was far less than stellar.

Why talk about Pudwill, when you could take about Salem or Ashira?

When you misrepresent stuff that you think strengthens your point, or when you exagerate facts, like saying that all Calzaghe's fights were in Cardiff, you do nothing more than divert focus from actual genuinely arguable points.

That's why, when someone like Beatboxer writes a critique of Calzaghe's resume, it's noticeably better and more effective than yours.

You seem to thrive on the name calling and **** taking emoticon side of the forum though. Thats fair enough, to each is own, but its not for everyone.

Beatboxer's evaluation was reductive and had a laughably flawed conclusion.

If I am evaluating a resume, I evaluate every name on there. I did look at Salem and Ashira. I looked at everyone. As simple as that. The same rule would be applied to any resume I look at. You can't be any fairer than that.

Blue, have you not figured out that Hopkins has made a career fighting fighters 1 or 2 weight classes below him?
Hopkins is a great boxer, but have you considered the fact that he tried to ruin the fight with Joe(a natural 175lber) and all of a sudden felt comfortable fighting a 160lber? Come the **** on already man...Trinidad, De la hoya, and now Pavlik.. When Hopkins was forced to fight a legit fighter in his weight class he got beat....TWICE by Taylor and once by Jones...Beating a B-grade Tarver means **** to me and most fans of the sport

and Eubank was more shot than Jones was

I do nothing of the sort, I merely retaliate when attacked. Check the threads I actually start for evidence of this.

Didn't you just try to tell us Dawson is equal because he beat Tarver and Johnson? :huh

What, the same Tarver and Johnson that Hopkins whooped on?

Come on man, you are losing your mind here.

Yes, beating a never was anybody Tarver, beating( arguably losing) to Glen Johnson, and beating a PRIME Adamek is rougly the same as....

Joe beating a shot Roy Jones, a past it Hopkins, and a prime Kessler...

Tell me, whats the goddamn difference????

The only difference I can see is it didnt take Dawson 10 ****ing years to fight a fighter in his prime

You say the Tarver Hopkins fought was finished? what the **** was the version Dawson got to? Trust me, what Hopkins did there was way more impressive than what Dawson did.

You're making it sound like Calzaghe is a massive light heavy and Pavlik is a small middleweight, when both (as you know) arn't true. If there was a sizable differance people wouldn't have been shoving Pavlik in the face of Calzaghe.

We both have our arguments here, but like it or not Hopkins is p4p top 5... so washed up.. it is evident he is not.

But if the current Hopkins is only as good as the current Tarver, shouldn't we have expected their fight to be a wee bit closer?

Calzaghe also has Ried, Shieka, Woodhall, Lacy, Brewer, Mitchell to throw into the mix. Not great fighters but pretty decent and certainly better than the next level of opposition on Dawsons record.
